Yuri Vanetik (born January 11, 1970) is an American attorney, private investor, political coalition builder, and philanthropist best known for his political advocacy work and leadership role in the McCain Presidential campaign.[1] He is a founder and managing partner of Vanetik International, Inc. and is considered an expert in political fundraising, mergers and acquisitions and capital formation. Vanetik shares a background in securities law, corporate governance, business strategy, and financial planning.[2]

Vanetik is also a philanthropist, supporting causes like education, child health, and community safety. He is also a recipient of the coveted American Jurisprudence Award.[3]

Early life and education

Vanetik was born in the former Soviet Union to Tony Vanetik, father, and Nina Vanetik, mother. Since his family immigrated to the US in the 1970s, he has spent his childhood in Southern California.

Vanetik earned his B.A. in Legal Studies with a major in Political Science, History, and Philosophy from the University of California, Berkeley in 1991. Pursuing his interest in education, he studied political philosophy at Oxford University in 1993. Vanetik went on to earn his Juris Doctorate at the University of California, San Francisco, Hastings, where he received the coveted American Jurisprudence Award. In 2001, Yuri Vanetik graduated in management from the Anderson Business School at UCLA.

Career

After working as a securities attorney at the law firm of K & L Gates (formerly Kirkpatrick & Lockhart LLP), Vanetik co-founded Iger, Koehler & Vanetik, LLP, a corporate law firm that specializes in corporate governance and advising boards of directors and committees on which they serve. In 2008, he was appointed by then California Governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, to serve on the California Criminal Justice Council.[4]

Pursuing his interest in politics, Mr. Vanetik served as key advisor and fundraiser for the McCain Presidential campaign. Following this, he was appointed, again by Governor Schwarzenegger, as the California Lottery Commissioner. He also served as the National Finance Co-Chair for the Republican Party of the State of New York. In 2018, Vanetik served as Senior Advisor to the Rebuild America Now Political Action Committee, a conservative political action committee.

Vanetik’s firm, Vanetik International Inc., is a management consulting firm that offers advisory services and strategic planning to businesses and high net worth individuals and family offices across the globe. Vanetik also serves as Managing Partner for Dominion Asset Management, a real estate investment firm.

Vanetik holds membership in many political and community organizations, some of which include the Young Presidents Organization, Claremont Institute, Heritage Foundation, CATO Institute, and American Sheriffs Foundation.

As an expert in policy and politics, Mr. Vanetik is regularly published in major international, national, and regional media platforms, including the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, The Daily Beast, Huffington Post, The Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, and many others. Mr. Vanetik has a regular column in Newsmax called Contrarian Corner. He is also a regular contributor to the Entrepreneur Magazine. Vanetik brings over 20 years of professional experience in corporate law, finance, real estate development, politics, and philanthropy.

Philanthropy

Besides living the life of an entrepreneur and investor, Yuri Vanetik is a committed philanthropist, supporting a variety of causes including education, children’s health, and community revitalization. As a result, he has served as a board member for organizations like the American Red Cross, Gen Next Foundation, Miracles for Kids, the Center for Global Change, and the Orange County Performing Arts Center.

Awards and Recognition

Shortly after finishing his bachelor’s degree, Yuri Vanetik earned his J.D. at the University of California, San Francisco, in 1997, where he received the coveted American Jurisprudence Award.

Personal life

Vanetik is fluent in Russian and proficient in Spanish and German. In his free time, he practices martial arts and engages in tactical shooting and survival training. Vanetik also enjoys studying history and playing sports like golf and tennis. He loves wine, horological instruments, fountain pens, Asian art, and politics. Vanetik also holds a 3rd degree black belt in Kung Fu San Soo.
