Younes Ech-Charqy (Arabic: يونس الشرقي), a Moroccan writer, was born in 1983 in Casablanca. He holds a PhD in mechanical industry and material corrosion, and won first place in the Channel Two Prize for Literary Creativity for his novel Dark Horses (Khoyol Al-dhalam).[1] He works as a university professor at the National School of Applied Sciences, Benzohr University, Agadir.[2]

Biography

The writer, Younes Ech-Charqy, was born in 1983 in Casablanca. He holds a PhD in mechanical industry and material corrosion and a diploma of a state engineer with conception and mechanical industry from the National Higher School of Electricity and Mechanics.[3] The writer won first place in the Channel Two Prize for Literary Creativity, category of the novel, for his novel Dark Horses (Khoyol Al-dhalam) in 2016, and won second place in the Sharjah Prize for his theatrical script Al-Hagalat Neighborhood (Hay Al-Hagalat), and he won the third place in the Arab-African Youth Council “Afrabia” award in the field of short story for the story Five Thousand Pounds (Khamsat Alaf Lira) in 2017.[1]
