Venkata Naga Satya Surendra Chimakurthi (April 10, 1989) is an accomplished Indian software developer, technical architect, DevOps manager, and author.[1] He is the DevOps manager at NextNav and has worked as a Technical Architect at Cognizant Technology Solutions for over 11 years.[2]
Chimakurthi possesses 12+ years of hands-on experience in system architecture and operations and has proven expertise in web-based solutions, particularly the Software as a Service (SaaS) business model, using DevOps best practices on a cloud platform. He accelerated growth playing a crucial role in the development of “assertSERV” during his tenure at Cognizant.[3][4]
Chimakurthi is proficient in various technologies, including Security, Storage, Web Applications, Database, Systems Admin, IT cost management, and Capacity Planning. Furthermore, Chimakurthi has mastered multiple technical languages such as Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, AWS, and Azure.
Chimakurthi is an innovative thinker who customizes his ideas to benefit the organization and has authored several articles. He serves as a senior member of IEEE, member of IET and member of the Editorial Board for various journals and a part of the peer review panel where he judges the work of other authors' articles. As a keynote speaker, and is often seen at international conferences and industry events, delivering talks on DevOps, cloud computing, technology, and cybersecurity.[5]
Early life and education
Chimakurthi was born and raised in Bapatla, India. His father is a retired Chief Manager at Canara Bank, and his mother is a homemaker. He developed an interest in computers at a young age, leading him to learn programming during adolescence.
Chimakurthi holds a bachelor's degree in Information Technology from the Vellore Institute of Technology.
Career
Chimakurthi started his career in 2011 when he joined Cognizant Technology Solutions as a software engineer, where he served for 11yrs+ till 2022. Chimakurthi's notable projects at Cognizant include helping numerous customers achieve digital transformations using bundled software technologies. He has successfully scaled applications and transformed large data migrations using cloud migration strategies, directly impacting the company's success. In particular, he played a crucial role in developing Cognizant's enterprise product, "assetSERV," a cloud-based, enterprise-grade digital marketing platform that offers CMOs a unique way to manage their marketing programs and assets.
As a DevOps specialist, Surendra Chimakurthi has worked in various sectors, including insurance, finance and banking, telecommunications, advertising, general media, internet, and entertainment. In 2022, Chimakurthi joined NextNav,[6] as DevOps Manager.[7]
Chimakurthi also serves as a keynote speaker for global events and conferences where he speaks on DevOps, Cloud computing, cybersecurity, and technology.
Chimakurthi has authored several international journal articles spanning DevOps, Cloud computing, Artificial intelligence, Digital Asset Management,[8] IOT, machine learning, Security, and marketing, which have been published in various Scopus-indexed journals. He has also judged the work of other top professionals in the field for prestigious awards such as the Stevie Awards, Ehealthcareawards, Globee Awards, AIVA Awards, and SIIA Codie Awards.
Additionally, Chimakurthi has authored the book "The Pandemic: Driven New Age of Cloud Computing," which covers the new age of cloud strategies, cloud security, best practices, benefits of cloud migration, and other relevant topics related to the pandemic situation.[9][10][11]

Personal life
Chimakurthi is married to Santha Sruthi Maddi.
