Vaidehi Taman is an Indian journalist, author, ethical hacker, philanthropist, and aesthetician.[1] She is the founder and Editor-in-Chief of Afternoon Voice and for The Democracy.[2][3]

Taman, in her extended career of over seventeen years, has grown to become one of the most sought-after investigative journalists in India, receiving multiple awards for her excellence including the 7th Kalam Ke Sipahi.[4][5]

Early life and education

Taman was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Taman holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Nagpur University and a degree in International Law from International Business Management Institute, Berlin which she received in 2021.

Career

Vaidehi Taman started her career as a journalist in 2006 when at Times of India (west side plus), in 2007 she worked with Free Press Journal as a Court correspondent, later on in 2007 joined Afternoon Despatch & Courier as City Editor.[6][7]

In 2009, Taman started her entrepreneurial journey with the launch of Afternoon Voice, an English-language daily newspaper and digital news media house based in Mumbai.[8] Afternoon Voice focuses on news from Mumbai, covering a wide range of topics including entertainment, sports, business, public opinion, and more.[9] It also includes popular on-demand categories like lifestyle, science fiction, Hollywood, and Bollywood, to mention a few.[10] She then expanded her business by launching Hackers5, a niche magazine dedicated to the field of hacking and cyber security, as well as Mumbai Manoos, a Marathi daily.[11][12]

In 2021 Taman became the Maharashtra State President of the Newspapers Association of India.[13] In the same year, she also ventured into a Video news portal, “The Democracy” which was launched by the Governor of Maharashtra Bhagat Singh Koshyari.[14]

Apart from her career as a renowned journalist, Taman has also published a number of books - The Abused, Sheriff of Mumbai, Mujhe Mera Kaam Karne Do, and Sikhism vs Sickism.[15]

Taman is also an entrepreneur and owns a wellness clinic called Vaidehee Aesthetics & Wellness. Taman is an Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP), EC Council Certified Ethical Hacker, Certified Security Analyst, and a Licensed Penetration Tester.
