Early Life and education

Tyler King is a resident of Texas, being born and raised in the lone star state[3]. . He has attended several leading educational institutions including Harvard Business School and MIT Slone School of Management[4]

Career

Tyler King dropped out of high school when his first venture, CSR Technology Group, Inc. hit $1 million in revenue his senior year. His company provided technology services and was one of the most successful field force companies prior to the age of digital communication. Following that venture, he went on to start several other successful companies. He also returned to gain further advanced education. Most recently, he is known for serving as the CEO of Assuras, a management consulting firm which solves complex issues for organizations all over the world[5].

Philanthropy

Following an unsuccessful criminal trial, attempting to maintain his innocence, Tyler King was sentenced to 6.5 years in Federal Prison for his part in a "digital conspiracy to access data" - where he taught an associate how to use administrative functions on a computer, which she used to look at her bosses emails[6]. Tyler started a non-profit organization called A Voice From Prison, where he writes from behind bars about his experiences and meaningful reform[7].

The organization that he founded now helps others who have previously been voiceless to speak out about the injustice that has been served by the US criminal justice system[8]. He serves as the Executive Director of the organization, however, due to prison rules, he leaves the management of the organization to the staff and board[9].

King volunteers his time writing and researching to support the organization's mission and also teach entrepreneurship to inmates within the criminal justice system[10]. The organization today helps support policy change through research performed by numerous volunteers and staff members[11].
