TraWell Co SpA, formerly known as Safe Bag, is a specialty company that offers luggage protection services at airports.[1] The company was founded in 1997 and headquartered in Italy, with operations in over 38 airports, and 130 shops all over the world employing about 300 people. Trawell Co is the first company in the world that offers lost & found concierge with active tracking with SITA WorldTracer System and luggage wrapping service.
TraWell Co SpA is the Holding of a multinational company listed on the Italian Stock Exchange and in the AIM sub-fund of the Milan Stock Exchange – London Stock Exchange. It is the first and only company in the airport services sector to be listed on the stock exchange market.The company formerly listed on the Italian AIM market, and now are listed on Euronext Growth Milan.
History
Safe Bag was founded in 1997 by Rudolph Gentile, a business executive with extensive experience in the air transport industry, along with Alessandro Notari who formerly served as the CEO of the firm. As of 2022, Trawell Co is run by Rudolph Gentile as the CEO of the firm.
Initially, Safe Bag offered its services at four Italian airports, namely - Bologna, Venice, Verona, and Naples. Within five years, the firm expanded its operations across the country introducing its services in Palermo, Florence, and Genoa, and later in Pisa, Olbia, Turin, and Alghero.
Safe Bag began expanding into additional European markets in 2007, initially in Paris-Charles De Gaulle and Orly, then in all major French airports. Safe Bag entered the Portuguese market in 2011, becoming an exclusive supplier at the country's major airports, including Lisbon, Porto, Faro, and Ponta Delgada, as well as beginning to offer its services in Spain at the Ibiza airport. In the same year, the company launched the Safe Bag kiosk, which serves as a one-stop-shop for products and services.
In 2012, Safe Bag expanded its presence in both Switzerland and France, and a year later at Miami International Airport. In 2016, Safe Bag entered the Canadian market at Montréal airport, and within a year it established its presence across the country, opening at the Vancouver and Ottawa airports, and arrived in Poland at Warsaw airport.
In 2018 Safe Bag started its operations in Rio de Janeiro, and Krakow. In the same year, the company also acquired Care4Bag, the main Greek operator in the luggage protection service sector. Later that year, Safe Bag changed its name to Trawell Co to reflect its aim of offering a wider variety of airport services.
Services
Basic Wrapping
Trawell Co's Basic Wrapping service consists of two parts: luggage wrapping and refund for damage. The luggage wrapping service protects luggage from wear and tear, damage from shocks, scratches, inadvertent opening, and weather, as well as acting as a theft deterrent. The protective film used in this service leverages cold wrapping technology and is eco-friendly. Customers are entitled to compensation of up to €1,000 if the protective film is insufficient to protect their luggage from damage during flight.
Lost Luggage Concierge
Trawell Co offers a bespoke, one-of-a-kind lost luggage concierge service that comes with a SITA WorldTracer System for active tracking, available on the sostravel application. The sostravel App also contains a number of information services targeted at improving the travel experience before, during, and after the journey. Customers are entitled to compensation of up to €4,000 for permanent luggage loss.

Trawell Co's Kiosks, which are located at various airports across the world, also sell a large choice of travel goods from major brands.
Weigh & Save
The weigh and save service by Trawell Co consists of a scale that allows the passengers to weigh their luggage twice for a single fee by using a reusable code on a ticket so they can weigh their luggage again after reducing excess weight.
Bike Box
Special boxes are available at the Safe Bag kiosk to safeguard bikes during flights. Each box is 160 x 92 x 23 cm in size.
Luggage Storage
Trawell Co also offers a 24/7 luggage storage service, where passengers can store their luggage at the airport kiosks.
