Thomas Kemeny is an American creative director and copywriter.[1] He is the author of the advertising book Junior and has received multiple awards in the advertising industry, including accolades from The One Show, Cannes Lions, and the ANDY Awards. His work has been featured in prominent publications such as The New York Times, NPR, and Vanity Fair.[2]

Biography

Kemeny graduated from Columbia College Chicago with a degree in marketing, communications, and advertising in 2005. He began his career as an intern at Crispin Porter + Bogusky in Miami. He subsequently worked at Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, and Mother New York.[3]

In January 2016, Kemeny started as a freelance copywriter through his company, Kemeny Interglobal Corp. He is the founder and president of the company and has worked with clients such as Oatly, Lemonade, Away, Sir Kensington’s, and Maille Mustard. Additionally, Kemeny has collaborated with various agencies, including 72andSunny, Anomaly, Translation, Swift, Red Antler, B-Reel, BSSP, McCann, and Stink.[4]

Kemeny has served as a judge for the Advertising & Design Club of Canada, Addys Austin, and ADC Young Ones. His insights have been featured in articles such as "The Most Exciting Part of Dining Out Is... the Bathroom?" in The New York Times.[5]

Kemeny is the author of Junior: Writing Your Way Ahead In Advertising, published by PowerHouse Books in 2019. He has also contributed to other works, including an essay in The Get A Job Workshop by Laurence Minsky and a foreword for Spittin’ Chiclets by Cameron Day.[6]
