Tazetdin (Tazi) Bagautdinovich Gilyazetdinov (May 2, 1924, village Bolshebadrakovo, Bashkir Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic - August 14, 2012, Ufa) commander of the fire platoon of the artillery battery of the 665th rifle regiment of the 216th rifle division of the 51st Army (Russia) of the 4th Ukrainian Front, lieutenant. The hero of the USSR. He was the last of the Heroes of the Soviet Union who lived in Bashkortostan.[1][2].

Biography

Born on May 2, 1924 in the village of Bolshebadrakovo, Burayevsky District of Bashkiria, into a peasant family. Tatar by nationality[3].

Graduated from 7 classes. He worked on a collective farm, and then from September 1941 to February 1942 - as a teacher in the school of the village of Badrakovo, Buraevsky district[4].

He was drafted into the Red Army on February 23, 1942 by the Buraevsky district military registration and enlistment office of the Bashkir ASSR. In December of the same year he graduated from the Guryev Military Infantry School[4].

In the army since October 1943. Particularly distinguished himself in the battles for the liberation of the Crimea.

Fire platoon of the artillery battery of the 665th rifle regiment (216th rifle division, 51st army, 4th Ukrainian front) under the command of Lieutenant Gilyazetdinov from April 7 to April 9, 1944 in the battles for the village of Tarkhan (now the village of Vishnevki Krasnoperekopsk Raion district of the Crimea) with direct fire suppressed 3 bunkers, 2 batteries of heavy mortars and 3 enemy anti-tank guns[5].

On May 9, 1944, in the battle for Sevastopol, Gilyazetdinov's fire platoon destroyed 2 tanks and 2 assault guns. Left alone and wounded, Lieutenant Gilyazetdinov knocked out another enemy tank.

Member of the CPSU(b)/CPSU since 1944[4].

Since November 1945, Captain Gilyazetdinov has been retired. In 1960 he graduated from the Bashkir State University. He worked in the Buraevsky district as a teacher at the Badrakov school, head of the district department of public education, second secretary of the district committee of the CPSU, director of the Badrakov secondary school[4].

Honored Veteran, retired major (2000). He lived in his native village of Bolshebadrakovo in the Buraevsky district of Bashkiria. Then he moved to the capital of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Ufa.

He died on August 14, 2012 in Ufa. He was the last Hero of the Soviet Union who lived in Bashkortostan[1][5]..

Awards

  • By the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 24, 1945, for the exemplary performance of the combat missions of the command and the courage and heroism shown in the battles against the Nazi invaders, Lieutenant Gilyazetdinov Tazi Bagautdinovich was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal (No. 6657)[6].
