Ram Rajappan[1] (born 6 February 1985) better known by his stage name Sree Varun is an Indian film director[2] best known for his work in Malayalam movie industry. After years of research and hard work on the particular field, he officially took up his career as a film director from the year 2007. He made his first directorial debut with the film Onnam Loka Mahayudham(2015), produced under the banner of Mehfil productions. His second project titled Daya Bai has completed his first schedule works and is slated to release next year.

Early life

Sree Varun was born in Alappuzha, Kerala as the son of Rajappan D and Kusumam Kumari. He completed his schooling from M.K.M SHS Pallana, Thirukunnapuzha, Alappuzha. Sree Varun pursued his graduation in BA History from Calicut University. Upon graduating from the college, Sree Varun dreamt of joining the film industry and decided to work for his passion. As a result, he joined the Kerala film academy and studied the direction course. He worked with Kavalam Narayana Panicker, the well-known Indian dramatist, poet, theatre director, and the founder of the theatre troupe- Sopanam which gave him motivational vibes to his career.

Career

Sree Varun made his first directorial debut with Onnam Loka Mahayudham, released in the year 2015, featuring Tovino Thomas and Aparna Gopinath in the lead roles. The aspiring thriller movie Onnam Loka Mahayudham was produced by Sajils Majeed under the banner of Mehfil productions with the script support handled by Hariprasad. Sree Varun's latest and the second project titled Daya Bai, a biopic on the famous social activist is expected to release in 2021. The movie with the locations captured in the interiors of Madhya Pradesh has the renowned Bengali actor Bidita Bag in the leading role. Daya Bai, which is currently in its pre-production stage, is a bilingual made in Hindi and English languages. The movie being produced by Shyse Eppan under the banner of Vettam movies has already gone on its first schedule in Madhya Pradesh and is expected to release soon.
