Dr. Sohil Makwana (born 19 January, 1983) is an Indian doctor and author of two novels. A picture of him went viral for his service in the COVID-19 pandemic in April 2021.[1][2][3][4]
Early life
Makwana grew up in Rajkot, Gujarat, in lower middle class family. After completing his schooling from Rajkot, he went on to do his MBBS at Baroda Medical College. He completed his post graduation at B. J. Medical College, Ahmedabad.[5]
Career

Currently he works at GMERS Medical College & Hospital, Dharpur as a MD Pharmacologist.[6][7]
While working during the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic, the image of Makwana went viral in which he was seen wearing a PPE kit and in the other he was seen drenched in sweat after removing the protective gear.[8] His viral photograph drenched in PPE kit has been liked by nearly 1.30 lakh users and retweeted more than 15,000 times.[7]
Literary career
Makwana started writing screenplays as an intermediate step of interest in film making.[9] But he couldn't find any producer. In 2020, he started writing his first novel Murdrum: The Probe Begins which is inspired from real-life serial killers. It was published in the first half of 2021.[10]
The second book, Murdrum 2: Double Trouble, was released in December 2021. The books are inspired by the real life serial killers like Harold Shipman, Samuel Little, Ted Bundy, Jeffrey Dahmer, and it revolves around advanced forensic investigations, criminal psychology, social and psychosocial science, and bizarre medical facts.
The Murdrum has gathered positive reviews from several celebrities including film director Anees Bazmee and Scam 1992 fame writer Karan Vyas.[11] date=February 2022}} He has donated all the earnings of his debut novel Murdrum The Probe Begins to a woman who had lost her parents due to COVID-19.[12][13]
He has worked as intern assistant director in Marathi horror film 'Bali'.
