Shafik Akbar Thomas (born December 19, 1994), is an American author, music producer, songwriter, poet and entrepreneur. He is the founder of CMEC (Cultural Media Entertainment Co.), a multimedia company designed to help musicians launch their careers. Shafik Thomas is also known for authoring a children's book series, "I'm An Entrepreneur". In 2021, Shafik Thomas established a community book drive in Camden, NJ[1] with the help of his community nonprofit organization Camden Support Camden[1].
Early life
Born December 19, 1994 in Temple University Hospital, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania although Shafik Thomas was raised in the East Camden neighborhood of Camden, New Jersey. Shafik attended Powell Elementary School and Molina Elementary School now known as Molina Lower Elementary Mastery Charter School. Shafik Thomas was partially raised in Raleigh, North Carolina as a child, during the years 2004-2007 from his 4th to 7th grade years in public school before returning back to New Jersey. Shafik spent most of his childhood and adolescent years writing poetry and short stories.
Music Career
Shafik Thomas began his music career in 2018 in which he released multiple recordings of him rapping under the moniker "Ecmd Feeky"[2] (Ecmd is the abbreviated form for East Camden), which he later re-released as two seperate Extended play the following year ("North America Tour" and "North America Tour II", respectively). Shafik Thomas helped co-found the companies Stone Digital Media Entertainment in 2018 and the sister company CMEC in 2020, which serves as a multimedia company[3]. 2021, Shafik Thomas released five instrumental albums under his known alias Ecmd Feeky via his media companies.
Writing Career
Shafik Thomas has authored a children's book series entitled "I'm An Entrepreneur", teaching children about Entrepreneurship and basing the first book of the series about his life. Shafik has also written and self published a poetry book entitled, "The Project: A Compilation".
