Sean William Gillaspie (born September 15th, 1990) is an American activist, actor, and politician. He is best known for using Facebook to post commentary and links to news stories about a Ford Motor Company benzene leak that occurred in the city of Flat Rock, Michigan.[1][2] This public health crisis required approximately 1,200 residents to evacuate their homes in September 2021. City Councilman Mark Maul later exposed[3] that the City was paying a public relations firm $210 per hour to "eliminate his credibility" by leaking the council packet and the memo.

Gillaspie was an actor in the low-budget Monster movie disaster film Mega Shark Versus Crocosaurus by The Asylum, released on December 21, 2010 in the United States. The film stars Jaleel White, Gary Stretch, Robert Picardo, Dylan Vox, Hannah Cowley (artist) and Sarah Lieving.[4]

Gillaspie ran for Mayor of Flat Rock in 2013[5]. He's run in every election since. In 2015[6], 2017[7], and 2019[8] he appeared on the ballot for City Council. in 2021 he ran as a write in candidate for Mayor.
