Samuel Jack Drury, known professionally as Samuel Jack, is an English singer-songwriter from London, England.[1] Jack's music is influenced by a range of genres including Soul music, Rhythm and blues and Hip hop music. He is currently based in Somerset[2], South West England|South West England.[1]
Biography
Jack was born in London, England, and grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa[3][4][5], with his father David Drury (director), before spending time with his mother in Netherlands.[1]
Career
Recently, touring and live support has included Nell Bryden on her UK tour[3], Newton Faulkner at the Melkweg music venue, Amsterdam[6], and Passenger (singer)|Passenger at the AFAS Live concert hall, Amsterdam. Jack has also played a number of UK festivals including Secret Garden Party, Dot to Dot Festival|Dot to Dot, Larmer Tree Festival,[7][8] Greenbelt Festival and Glastonbury Festival|Glastonbury, where he performed on the Avalon Stage.[7][9]
Jack’s 2019 song We Are The Future was featured in the 2020 Levi Strauss & Co. Your Voice Your Way global campaign.[10] Jack's music has also had placements in several major TV series, including: Nashville (2012 TV series)|Nashville[11], Shameless (American TV series)[11], The Rookie (TV series)|The Rookie[11], Queen Sugar[11], Walker (TV series) and Pearson (TV series)[11].
Jack's 2019 single Feels Like Summer achieved Viral video success on Instagram Reels in June of 2021[12][13], becoming the platforms most used song in the United States in the weeks following[5][14].
