Ruxandra Mihaela Botez is an aerospace design engineer. She is a professor holding the Canada Research Chair in aircraft modeling and simulation technologies at the École de technologie supérieure at the Université du Québec in Montreal, Québec, Canada.[1]

Biography

From 2009 to 2019, Botez worked in collaboration with CMC Electronics as project leader on projects on the conception of new methodologies for aircraft trajectory optimizations for fuel reduction applied to the Flight management system (FMS).[2] [3] [4] [5] [6]

She started working as project leader in 2003 on three large-scale projects that were initiated and funded by the Consortium for Research and Innovation in Aerospace in Québec (CRIAQ), the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council and industrial partners. These projects were funded and realized with Bell Textron (on the Bell-427 helicopter Level D simulator certification) and with Bombardier Aviation and Thales (on morphing wings).

In 2003, Botez founded the Laboratory of Applied Research in Active Controls, Avionics and AeroServoElasticity (LARCASE).[7]

Botez is Editor-in-Chief of the INCAS Bulletin.[8]
