Nitin Dubey (born July 3, 1981) is an Indian singer, composer, actor, and lyricist. Born in Raigarh, Chhattisgarh, Dubey gained recognition for his melodious singing and compositions on his youtube channel “Nitin Dubey Official” and has more than 7 lakh subscribers.[1] Dubey has also traveled across India and performed for various bhajan programs and live performances.[2][3]
During his career of over 2 decades in the Chhattisgarh film industry, Dubey has also worked as a singer & music director in movies and an actor in his album songs.[4]
Early life and education
Nitin Dubey was born on July 3, 1981, in Raigarh, Chhattisgarh, India, to Parmhans and Kalindi Dubey. He went to the Maa Sarveshwari High School Raigarh for elementary and high school, and then to the Natwar Higher Secondary School Raigarh for intermediate school. Dubey graduated from the Degree College Raigarh at Guru Ghasidas University, Chhattisgarh.
Nitin Dubey was inclined towards singing since his childhood. He grew up listening to bhajans sung by his mother during the puja. He started singing at the age of 7, for an independence day performance held at his school. Dubey participated in several districts and state-level music competitions and became famous as a child artist. He idealizes renowned singer Kishor Kumar and practices singing his melodies.[5] During his school days, his school music teacher, Gulabram Chauhan mentored and taught him music basics. Later, Dubey started gaining knowledge about Ragas and listened to cassettes of great masters, and read books on classical music.[6][7][8]
Career
Nitin Dubey started his singing career in 2001, with the album Tain Deewani Main Deewana. His first song on the album was Manmohini He Gaon Ke Goriya, followed by 2 other songs Ud Ja Re Maina, and Jawan De Jawan De Mola for the same album. Subsequently, Dubey started singing for various albums including, Hay Tore Bindiya, Tain Mor Prem Deewani, and Padosin Turi. In 2005, with the release of the album Hay Mor Chandni, Dubey got much-needed fame and recognition all over the state of Chhattisgarh.[9]
Nitin Dubey also gained fame as a bhajan singer. He released two Chhattisgarhi bhajan albums named Chandraseni Amar Katha 1 and Chandraseni Amar Katha 2 in the year 2006 and 2007 respectively. He also released Hindi bhajan albums named Chalo Shirdi Dham, Sancha Hai Maa Ka Darbar in 2009 and 2010 respectively. In 2013, Dubey released an album titled 'Sai Ka Sajda' with famous Bollywood singers Suresh Wadekar and Sadhna Sargam, under the label Ultra Music, Mumbai. Following the release of this album, Dubey became famous as a Sai Bhajan Singer and started doing live performances and bhajan programs across different Indian states.[10]
Nitin Dubey has worked as a music director for several movies in the Chhattisgarh Film Industry in movies including, Mr Majnu, and Dil Pardesi Hoge Re. He has worked as a playback singer in the film Chal Hat Konho Dekh Lihi, directed by the famous director of Chhattisgarh film industry, Satish Jain.[11]
Dubey has gained popularity as not just a singer, but also as a lead actor in his albums. Some of his superhit songs are Hay Re Mor Kochaipan, [1], Ka Tai Roop Nikhare Chandaini, Chanda Re, Hay Mor Chandni, Hay Re Mor Mungakadi,[12] Gulmohar, Chandni 2, Tor Bar Mor Dil Bekraar, Dhadkan Ke Saaj, Barbad Kar Dehe Mola,[13] O Jaaneman O Dilruba, and Hay Re Mor Mor Neelpari. Some of his superhit bhajans are Sai Ka Sajda, Tu Sai Sai Bol Re, Tu Bhaj Le Sai Prabhu Ka Naam, Chandraseni Amar Katha, Sancha Hai Ek Tera Hi Darbar Maa, Gouri Ke Lala, Ganpati Ganraj, Pratham Vandna and Chhattisgarh Ke Chhattis Devi.
Dubey has also performed as a live singer in various state-level music festivals such as Chakradhar Samaroh, Bhoramdev Mahotsav, Rajyotsava Mahotsav, and Jajwalyadev Mahotsav. Dubey’s Youtube channel has over 700K subscribers and thousands of followers on his other social media handles.[14][15]
