Nathan Levinson (born 27 June 1991) is a Canadian serial entrepreneur, global business owner, and social activist. He is the founder of Royal York Property Management, a leading property rental and leasing firm. Based in Toronto, Ontario, Nathan has led 15 office locations across Ontario, 2 office locations in Europe, and 3 in British Columbia, with a portfolio of over 12,000 properties. The company is leading the potential in property management and surpassing the client's experience by having all departments operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Valued at over $4.2B in real estate assets under management, the company is advancing technology in their processes, systems, and expanding globally.[1][2]

Levinson is focused on making RYPM a service and technology company. That is why Nathan began MATEEM, a white-label tech startup for property management that will collaborate and grow all companies in the industry. The web and mobile app will help control all back end operations in real estate and fulfill Nathan’s vision to not only expedite the leasing process for property owners and tenants, but also become the innovation leadership for property management. His determination in creating success no matter what, has led him to becoming one of the youngest business owners in property management.[3]

Nathan is also a social activist. His vision is to create more community ambulance services throughout the globe. He believes ambulance services are a priority, not a privilege. Focused on uplifting each other to support and learn from people’s state of emergency, Nathan hopes to reduce the gap between safety and preparedness.

Levinson has over a decade’s experience working in property management and is regarded for his work throughout the industry. Levinson, in his diversified career, has worked with a number of high-profile clientele and is known to build close professional relationships with them. He has been featured in several media outlets including Forbes, Latestly, Entrepreneur, New York Weekly, Yahoo, Chicago Tribune, Market Watch, and others.[4][5]

Early life and education

Levinson was born on 27 June 1991 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, to Harry Levinson and Myra Levinson. He grew up with two siblings named Avi and Yitz Levinson. From Nathan’s challenging upbringing to the traumas of foster-care and schooling, Levinson’s road to success was paved with high vulnerabilities and insecurities. But his entrepreneurial spirit did not allow his potential to go unnoticed.

Nathan was eager to become independent and lead others. Lost with the standards of religious grade school, Levinson’s passion for business was identified by behavioral issues and eventually, he was no longer welcomed back to school. At the age of 12, Nathan decided to get on a Jewish community bus that transported kids to school in New York. The unstable living conditions and constant bullying, coupled with the overwhelming stress of being financially independent at a young age, did not facilitate a conventional path to success. Even though there were many challenges endured, Nathan’s entrepreneurial traits would serve him well in his career. Levinson completed his graduation from the Fairleigh Dickinson University. He is determined to capture each opportunity with an overwhelming sense of purpose.

Career

Levinson started his career in 2009 when he became the youngest ranked officer in EMS of North Jersey. In 2010, Levinson founded Royal York Property Management and is now one of the most successful founders in the industry.[6]

Since the company’s foundation, Nathan’s vision has been to create property management that’s easy for everyone to become a part of – to treat property management like people. With 20 office locations, Nathan is focused on ways to streamline the leasing and property management process. Planning to expand to 38 office locations across Europe and the Middle East, this young entrepreneur is creating a company that others may soon need to follow within the industry.

Under his leadership, Royal York Property Management has become one of the fastest-growing companies in Canada and is managing over 12,000 properties. Being a Toronto-based firm, Nathan keeps the principles of inclusion, diversity, and equity in mind, because Levinson believes the greatest resource in property management is its people. As of 2021, the company is expanding and taking its services worldwide, making it the first Canadian company in the industry to expand globally.

Levinson is also the founder of Mateem, a tech startup for property management. It is a web and mobile application that helps users expedite the leasing process for property owners and tenants.

Apart from that, as a social activist, Levinson runs One United EMS, a community ambulance service that is regarded as the largest volunteer emergency medical service and ambulance provider in the United States.

Personal life

Levinson is fluent in English, Yiddish, and Hebrew. Levinson is a highly independent person, who since his teenage years has strived to become financially independent and help others to do so as well.
