History
NameScan was founded in 2016 as a member of the Neurocom Group, which also includes Member Check, GPayments and Creative Digital Technology.[3]
NameScan was developed in recognition of the ever-increasing significance of KYC/KYB processes to all sizes of businesses across a wide range of industries. NameScan ensures that businesses are able to comply with AML/CTF regulations and have the proper procedures in place to reduce the risk of being connected to money laundering and terrorism financing activities.[4]
Platform
NameScan’s AML/CTF compliance platform is a publicly accessible, online service which offers a variety of watchlists of Politically Exposed Persons (PEP), officially sanctioned individuals, persons of Special Interest and Adverse Media for screening individuals and entities, including its own proprietary datasets (Emerald Data), third party datasets (Sapphire Data), and Global Watchlists.[5][6]

The Emerald Data includes extensive, global coverage of the most popular Sanction lists such as OFAC, United Nations Sanctions, Australian Sanctions, US Consolidated Sanctions and a consolidated global PEP list.[8]
The Sapphire Data utilises multiple third-party datasets which provide a comprehensive coverage of PEP/RCA/SIP worldwide, with 1.4 Million PEP profiles, 1.2 Million Sanction profiles and 400,000 adverse media links. Both data sets are updated daily to ensure that clients always screen against the latest and most accurate information possible.
NameScan’s KYB service allows clients to access company records for over 170+ million legal entities across 120 countries and use the information returned to identify the ultimate beneficial owners.
NameScan’s Pay-As-You-Go business model is particularly applicable for organisations with different risk appetites and lower screening volumes because it allows clients to purchase credit packs for different datasets and sizes, which meet their screening requirements.
