Munr Kazmir

Dr. Munr Kazmir (born 1957) is a Pakistani American Businessman, Doctor, Entrepreneur, as as well as a philanthropist. Dr Kazmir is the Vice President of the American Jewish Congress, founder of Quality Homecare Providers Inc., the American International School System, and Direct Meds Inc. In 2001, he became a Commissioner of the New Jersey Lottery. Additionally, within this time frame, he was also selected to become the Vice Chairman of the State of New Jersey Lottery Commission and served in that position for 14 years.[1]

Later, in 2010, he was appointed as a board member of the Non-Partisan Political Action Committee (NORPAC) which serves to support United States candidates and sitting members of Congress who demonstrate commitment towards the protection, preservation, and security of Israel. [2]In 2019, he was appointed as Goodwill Ambassador of the Bektashi Order by Baba Mondi in Tirana Albania.[3][4]

Biography

Dr. Munr Kazmir was born in Lahore Pakistan on January 1st 1957 to a Syrian Jews. Throughout his life, he has gathered a lot of knowledge about Judaism which would later spark his involvement in the American Jewish Congress. He later went on to graduate from the University of the Punjab where he received his M.B.B.S/M.D. Then, he completed a one year internship at the Mayo Hospital in Lahore, as well as a two year long residency at the Holy Family Hospital in Rawalpindi. In 1984, Dr. Kazmir permanently moved into the United States where he completed his Internal Medicine Internship at the White Plains Hospital in 1986. He then went on to complete additional studies at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston Texas in 1988 where he was awarded as the lead Fundraiser for the Juvenile Diabetes Fund. Dr. Kazmir finished his medical studies at SUNY downstate medical center and immediately thereafter incorporated his first healthcare business which provided staffing for hospitals and nursing homes.[5]

Health Care

Dr Kazmir is a member of the Board of Trustees of Liberty Health Systems Foundation, a former Trustee of The Hackensack University Hospital Foundation, former chairman of (NATPAC), and former chairman of the Board of Middle East Media Research Institution (MEMRI). He then was appointed as the United States Secretary of Health and Human services in 2005, not long after he served on the National Advisory Committee for the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality for three years.[6][5][7]

In 2020, he was appointed as representative to the Presidential Advisory Council on Combatting antibiotic resistant bacteria by the White House.[8]

American Jewish Congress

As the Vice President of the American Jewish Congress, Dr Munr Kazmir has been a passionate advocate for Jewish interests in the United States and other places around the world. Along with the President of AJC, Jack Rosen, he aids in focusing the organization's efforts towards the protection and preservation of Israel and Jewish people around the globe.[9]

He led a delegation along with President Jack Rosen for their 31st, 32nd, and 33rd Annual Mayor's conference in Israel in which mayor's from all around the world joined the American Jewish Congress for a week of meetings with various high placed members of the Israeli government Including the Mayor of Jerusalem, the Prime Minister of Israel, the Mayor of Tel Aviv, and other Mayors from the country.[10][9]

Additionally, he is a board member of the Board of Governors of the Republican Jewish Coalition, Anti-Defamation League, Chabad house, the Board of Trustees of the Rabbinical College of America, the Board of the American Council of World Jewry, a former member of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee Public Affairs Committee (AIPC) along with the Board of Directors of the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs (JINSA).[5]

In 1999, he was recognized by the Republican Jewish Coalition for his continuous support for the preservation of Judaism and awarded the Maimonides award by Keren- Or.[7]

Quality Homecare Providers

After his arrival to America, Dr. Kazmir founded Quality Homecare Providers Inc., a healthcare employment agency based in the state of New Jersey that offers medical services and equipment to various clients. The said equipment include, Oxygen Concentrators, portable oxygen tanks, nebulizers, humidifiers, walkers, wheelchairs, suction machines, and shower chairs.[11]

Direct Meds

In 1998, Dr Munr Kazmir founded Direct Meds Inc. It is a fully-registered pharmacy specializing in prescription home delivery with operating facilities in the states of New Jersey and Florida with a nationwide delivery. [12]
