MiraCell is a cosmetics company focusing on plant-based (natural) ingredients. Headquartered in Orem, UT, the brand is best known for its ProEar product that moisturizes itchy ears and is recommended by professionals across the United States, Canada, Australia, Europe, and Colombia.[1]

Founded in 2000, MiraCell products are manufactured in FDA-approved plants in Los Angeles. The initial product was known as MiraCell. The name was later changed to “Skin Relief and Support” as the company developed more products. ProEar is based on the original Skin Relief formula and adapted to work in the ear canal. As of 2022, current products include ProEar, Skin Relief & Support, Hand & Foot Support Cream, Scar Support, Serious Skin Support Cream, Cold Sore Support and Lip Calm (5 flavors).[2]

History

MiraCell was founded in 2000 by Marilyn T Harris. Previously, she had started a complete cosmetics company, Signaire International, out of frustration over not being able to find a natural product to help her troubled skin. At the age of 12, she developed a bad case of acne that left ugly scars on her face, which plagued her for decades, even after trying countless products. This is when she decided to come up with a beauty care solution made with natural ingredients that would cater to all skin types. Unfortunately, Signaire did not succeed. Marilyn then scaled back the skin care line and launched MiraCell, with a single product, also called MiraCell. The name 'MiraCell' was invented by Robert E Harris for both product and company. This product was successful enough to grow the company to the point that more products could be added. Marilyn’s husband, Robert Harris, works in the hearing industry and was the motivation behind adapting Skin Relief & Support to work in the external ear canal. This niche product filled a need in the hearing industry and is the most successful product for MiraCell, Inc. -Despite her initial trials in business, Marilyn never looked back and worked in the beauty industry for 35 years. She passed away on April 18, 2021. The success of MiraCell, Inc stands as a tribute to her persistence to find natural products that live up to their promise.

Platform

MiraCell products are currently sold at over 3,000 fine retailers throughout the US, South America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. With more than 800,000 users, MiraCell has a presence in more than 1,700 hearing professionals’ offices.

Services

The products offered by MiraCell are all plant-based and made with natural ingredients like aloe vera, apricot kernel oil, avocado, camellia kissi, coconut oil, comfrey, grape seed extract, jojoba, lemon balm, olive leaf, papaya, shea butter, sunflower, sesame, vitamin B and E. The company was initially established to create a skin serum for facial skin, which soon expanded to treating chapped lips, moisturizing and improving the appearance of serious skin conditions and moisturizing the delicate skin inside the ears.

MiraCell products also help to remove eye make-up safely and naturally. Its products are infused with the finest quality botanical extracts, each playing a crucial role in your skincare routine. The company's products are free of fillers and petrochemicals, petroleum distillates, petroleum, or mineral oil that starve the skin and dry it up.

Funding

MiraCell was initially funded by its founders and is currently being funded by product sales.
