Marco Santos (born June 3, 1975) is a Brazilian business executive and the Co-Chief Executive Officer of GFT Technologies. GFT Technologies is listed on the German stock exchange. Santos is to lead GFT as Co-CEO together with former CEO Marika Lulay until the end of the year. Marika Lulay (61) will leave the company at the end of her contract on 31 December 2024. As of 1 January, 2025, Santos will be sole CEO of the company.
Early life and education
Santos earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of São Paulo (USP) in 1996 and a MBA in General Management from IBMEC in 2001 and a second MBA in International Trade from FIA Business School in 2006.[1][2] Santos has also studied at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Singularity University, and the University of Illinois.[1][2]
Career
Santos served as the E-Business Practice Manager at Oracle in Brazil and held roles including Director of Software Development at Organic, Senior Account Manager at CPM Capgemini[2][3][4] and Executive Director and Head of Sales at Tata Consultancy Services Brazil.[5][6]
In 2011, Santos joined GFT Technologies as Country Manager for Brazil, expanding the team from under 100 to over 3,000 employees with revenues of over €137 million in 2022, making GFT Brazil the largest country in the GFT group both in terms of revenues and employees.[7][8] Soon after, Santos became President of GFT’s Latin American operations and in 2020, Marco Santos took over as CEO at GFT USA and was appointed to the Group Executive Board of the GFT Group, moving and living in the United States.[9] In 2023, Santos assumed as CEO of GFT Americas with full responsibility to manage the business in North and Latin America and expanding the whole region to over 6,000 employees. In July 2024, Santos was appointed Co-CEO of GFT Technologies,[10][11][12][7] focusing on artificial intelligence, digital transformation, cloud technologies and Next Generation Core Banking.[13][14][15]
