Mallela Venkata Ramanareddy(1943 – 29 September 2021) was an Indian physician and politician from Andhra Pradesh belonging to YSR Congress Party. He was elected as a legislator of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly from Proddatur in 1983.
Early life
MV Ramana Reddy was born in 1943. He received his MBBS degree from Guntur Medical College. During his college days he started a monthly magazine called Kavitha with some friends. He later published a political magazine called Prabhanjanam. Mv Reddy was the founder president of Rayalaseema Vimochana Samiti and had favoured the formation of a separate Rayalaseema state. He is the founder member of Revolutionary Writers' Association.
Political career
MV Ramana Reddy contested and won from Proddatur (Assembly constituency) as an independent in 1983. He later joined in Telugu Desam Party but came out of it after he fell out with N. T. Rama Rao. He had also staged protests demanding justice as well as the backwardness of the Rayalaseema region and for the separate statehood for the Rayalaseema.
Death
MV Ramana Reddy died on 29 September 2021 at Kurnool Hospital while undergoing treatment for long time due to lung-related ailments.[1][2][3]
