Madison Mairee Watkins (born March 20th 1995) is an American singer, songwriter, and influencer. Madison first gained recognition after making her industry debut on NBC's America's Got Talent in 2016[1], and most recently as a Top 12[2] semifinalist on American Idol Season 19.[3][4]

In 2020, Watkins released her first E.P, 'Rooted' after the success of her singles 'Curls' and 'Hold Me Tonight.'

Life and Career

Early Life

Watkins was born in Fayetteville, Arkansas to her father, Larry Watkins, and her mother Gwen Watkins[5]. She currently resides in Los Angeles, CA.[2][6]

2016 - America's Got Talent & Glow Movement

Madison made her television debut as a contestant on Season 11 of NBC's America's Got Talent in 2016[7][8] where she auditioned live[9] and advanced to the Judge Cuts round. On Episode 1109, she performed 'Let it Go' by James Bay (singer), and did not advance to the quarter finals.[10]

In 2016, Watkins also released an E.P titled 'Glow' which has since been taken down from streaming platforms. The E.P featured 5 songs, and was tied to the 'Glow Movement' started by Watkins where she traveled to many schools across the state of Arkansas speaking to youth about "glowing in a society that wants to dim their light."[11]

2019 to Present

Madison released two singles, Curls and Crazy, in 2019 with accompanying music videos for each. During her time on American Idol,[12] Watkins auditioned with her original song, 'Your Little Girl,'[13] and performed Tori Kelly discography live with Tori Kelly[14][15]. Recently, Watkins' single, Blinded, was played on CBS's Love Island (American TV series) in the United States.

In 2020, Watkins partnered with numerous brands through Matter Media Group, including Netflix, Puma (brand), Bose Corporation, and Aussie[16]. Aussie licensed her song, 'Curls', for a social media campaign titled #CurlMagic on TikTok which generated over 1.7 billion views.[17][18]

Watkins has a presence on Spotify with 24,417 followers, and 217,714 monthly listeners with fans around the world including London, Sydney, Oslo, Amsterdam, and the United States.

Most recently, Watkins performed her song, Someday, live for the The Recording Academy Positive Vibes Only series.[19]
