Larry Creel is a New York City-based partner and portfolio manager at Edgewood Management LLC.[1] With over three decades of experience in investment management, Creel is responsible for directing investment activity for Edgewood and helping facilitate the firm’s overall growth.[2]

Creel also sits on the board of trustees for Second Stage Theater, a multi-award-winning Broadway and Off-Broadway production company devoted to amplifying the works of contemporary American playwrights. The company's productions have won more than dozen Tony Awards, 29 Obie Awards, eight Outer Critics Circle Awards, and 13 Drama Desk Awards, among other accolades.

Education

Creel graduated from Lake Forest College and attended the New York University Stern School of Business.

Career

Creel started his career at Donaldson Lufkin and Jenrette (DLJ), a New York-based investment bank. During his time there, Creel rose to the position of vice president of the equities division, where he managed the firm's top institutional accounts.

Creel left DLJ in 1997 to join Edgewood Management LLC as a partner and portfolio manager.[3] He is part of Edgewood's six-person Investment Committee and serves as an investment advisor to the Edgewood Growth Fund and the Edgewood L Select - US Select Growth Fund.

In addition, Creel is a trustee of Second Stage Theater in New York, a theater company known for showcasing the works of living American playwrights. Since its inception in 1979, Second Stage has produced over 200 original and uniquely American stories told through genres such as musicals, plays, and solo performances. Notably, the company has staged productions of the Pulitzer Prize-winning plays Water by the Spoonful (Quiara Alegria Hudes), Between Riverside and Crazy (Stephen Adly Guirgis), Next to Normal (Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey), and Dear Evan Hansen (Steven Levenson, Benj Pasek, and Justin Paul).

Personal life

Larry is married to Dana Creel, a PR consultant and a former director of Beautycounter, a cosmetics brand. The couple lives in Manhattan with their five children.
