Khaled Azazy (born July 27, 1970) is an Egyptian educationist best known for bringing about institutions that promote quality education, occupational knowledge, skill development, and employability advancements.[2][3] Khaled is the founder and Chairman of Azazy Group,[4][5] Future University in Egypt,[6][7] Malvern College Egypt, Al Alsun Higher Institute and Al Alson Private Schools Complex.[8][9] In 2008, he was awarded an honorary doctorate from American World University for excellence in education.[10][11]

Early life and education

Azazy was born in Cairo to the late Dr. Hassan Khaled Azazy (father) and Esmat Mohamed Abdelwahab Elmenawy (mother). His father was renowned for his groundbreaking initiatives in education and as the visionary founder of the Azazy Group.[12] Since its inception, the Group has become an icon of a leading educational hub.[13]

Azazy completed his Bachelor of Law along with a diploma in Police Science in 1991. Thereafter, he attended Cambridge University to pursue his MBA, which he completed in 2010.[14][15]

Career

Azazy started his career in the education field by supporting his family business, headed by the late Dr. Hassan Azazy.[16][17] In 2008, he became the Chairman of the Azazy Group and led the formation of the university’s Board of Trustees and Board of Advisors.[18][19]

Under his management, Future University in Egypt has observed an increase in its student headcount, introduced a quality management system, and contributed to internationalizing higher education in Egypt.[20][21] Khaled is also committed to his social responsibility, as evident in the work done by the Future University Training Factory in the Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Dentistry, and Hayat Foundation for Sustainable Development.[22][23][24]

Azazy comes with a background in law, teaching, and research, combined with a vision of finding schools meeting both occupational knowledge and skill development needs.[25] Subsequently, he committed his efforts to establishing different types of education, namely, public education schools and secondary hotel and tourism schools.[26][27] Khaled also emphasized industrial education in the field of computers while keeping up with the current international trends.[28][29] His efforts culminated in him being a pioneer in vocational education.[30][31][32]

As a part of Azazy Group, Azazy successfully launched Malvern College Egypt which became the first top British school to open an international branch in the MENA region.[33] In 2012, Khaled formed the International Group for Investment and Development to oversee the development of new educational projects.[34][35] In addition, Azazy is known for his involvement in the community’s educational welfare.[36][37]
