Early life and education

During high school, Hajee developed a passion for writing and radio and decided to further pursue both in University. While at University he volunteered to work at a closed-circuit Radio station on Campus.
In 1983, Hajee enrolled at York University, Toronto, where he teamed up with a group of volunteers and established CHRY-FM. During his time there, Hajee was also a columnist for the University Newspaper - Excalibur. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 1988. Upon Graduating from York he obtained a scholarship to attend NYU where he was also hired as a Supervisor in the Journalism Department. During his time at NYU, he also worked for CBC Radio Sports as a reporter.
