Karim Hajee (born 8 February 1964) is a Toronto-based entrepreneur, author, and speaker. He is best known as the founder of the Creating Power System which teaches people how to apply the power of their subconscious mind. Hajee is also the founder of the Nutrasen Wellness Supplement Brand and author of the bestselling book - The Power of Believing.[1]

As a former investigative reporter, writer, and producer in NYC, Hajee has worked with the industry-leading networks - CBS News, ABC News, and New York 1 News. He has also garnered recognition for uncovering stories about the 1993 World Trade Center Bombing and the 9/11 attacks on the WTC - the terrorists, the plot, and their origins. He became the first On-Air Television Reporter and anchor of Indian descent in New York City and Vancouver, Canada, and also the first Overnight Anchor on CBC NewsWorld.[2]

Early life and education

Hajee was born on 8 February 1964 to Pyaraly Jadavjee Hajee and Noorbegum Hajee in Nairobi, Kenya. The family migrated to Toronto in 1973. During high school, Hajee developed a passion for writing and radio and decided to further pursue both in University. While at University he volunteered to work at a closed-circuit Radio station on Campus.

In 1983, Hajee enrolled at York University, Toronto, where he teamed up with a group of volunteers and established CHRY-FM. During his time there, Hajee was also a columnist for the University Newspaper - Excalibur. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 1988. Upon Graduating from York he obtained a scholarship to attend NYU where he was also hired as a Supervisor in the Journalism Department. During his time at NYU, he also worked for CBC Radio Sports as a reporter.

Career

Hajee started his career as a freelance writer in 1987 for The Toronto Sun and Toronto Star. He also worked as a writer for Omni (CFMT) Television Toronto. A year later, Hajee became a reporter at CBC Radio Sports in Toronto and then in New York. During his tenure there, Hajee covered the World Series, Stanley Cup Finals, World Cup Finals, World Series, Super Bowl, and NBA Finals. For a year he also served as a writer, reporter and anchor for CBC Television News, CBC NewsWorld, and CBLT-TV Toronto.[3]

Hajee started CKVU Television in 1991, and after a year as a reporter there, he joined NY1 News, where he worked for four years as a police reporter. In 1993 he won the Reporter of the Year NYC Journalism Award. From 1995-1997 Hajee returned to NYU as a Professor to teach Television Reporting in the Graduate program - the same course he took and supervised. During this time he also worked as a writer/producer for ABC’s Good Morning America and WABC-TV News. [4]

In 1999 Hajee also started his entrepreneurial journey and established Creating Power. The company rose to popularity when its debut course hit the market. This course is designed to teach people how to apply the Power of their Subconscious mind. During this time he also did many speaking engagements in New York and around the USA and Canada. The course particularly aims to teach people that they have the power to create and change their own lives, and it shows them how to do so using a simple framework. Hajee published the Power of Believing book in 2004 and followed it up with the Creating Wealth Course in 2005; both programs have since been revised and continue to assist individuals all over the world.

In 2018, Hajee established another one of his ventures as a division of Creating Power - Nutrasen Wellness/Shanti Supplements. It is a health and wellness brand that provides natural supplements, information, and courses to help people live a healthier and more nutritional life.[5]
