Karan Choudhary (born on 11 November 1989) is an Indian actor, model, and filmmaker pursuing his career in New York.[3][4][5]He is best known for filmmaking and acting, his films have won and received several awards in the short film category. Choudhary is also a popular face in tv commercials and has appeared in The History Channel, Bud Light Beer, T-Mobile, Perrier Sparkling Water, Captain Morgan Rum, Canon Cameras, Budweiser Beer, NYU Langone Hospitals, Stella Artois Beer, Intercontinental Hotels and On Vocal Headphones.[6]

Choudhary has been credited for his indie projects including “Careful What You Wish For”, “Mommy Heist”, and “Callie & Izzy”. His story of becoming a filmmaker has been covered by several mainstream media outlets.[7] As of June 2020, Choudhary has appeared in over 15 shorts films, TV series and TV movies.[8]

In his early career, Choudhary has created a buzz by receiving several nominations for his work on the "global film" festival circuits.[9]

Early life and education

Karan Choudhary was born on 11 November 1989 in Faridabad, India.[10] He completed his graduation from Delhi university in business and marketing in 2010.[11] While studying theatre, Choudhary worked as a model in Mumbai.[12]He moved to New York in 2013 after being accepted to the famous Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre.[13] There, he studied the Sanford Meisner technique of acting and graduated in 2015.[14]

Career

Choudhary is among the few models who have successfully transitioned to a career in acting.[15] Choudhary started his filmmaking career in 2017 through a short documentary film, Dedication.[16] The documentary received many accolades, nominations and awards in film festivals including best short documentary and best message.

In 2018, Choudhary made his second film, a short comedy, New York'd.[17] It was nominated in more than 25 international film festivals and won over six awards. In 2019, his third Short film Timepiece was nominated for Best Short Film, Best Dark Comedy, Best International Short Film and won Best LGBT Film, Best Writing at the International film festivals circuit.[18][19]

Choudhary was born in the family of Om Prakash and Shrimati Choudhary. He is fluent in English, Hindi, and Spanish.
