John Mateyko is an American financial advisor, wealth manager, and investment fiduciary.[1] He is a certified Wealth Management Certified Professional (WMCP), Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP), Portfolio Management Advisor (APMA), and Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA).[2][3]
Mateyko serves as the founder, managing partner, and fiduciary financial planner at IDEX Financial. At IDEX Financial, Mateyko helps clients create retirement income plans and guides clients through sustainable retirement income strategies tailored to their unique needs.[4]
Throughout his career, John Mateyko has worked with prominent financial firms such as Morgan Stanley, Atlas Securities, JP Morgan Chase, and Fifth Third Securities. He is renowned for his high performance and is skilled in client acquisition, sales, and portfolio management. Education
Mateyko began his educational journey in 1994 at Augustana College in Rock Island, IL, where he studied business and philosophy. He completed financial planning courses from the American College of Financial Services to become a Wealth Management Certified Professional (WMCP) and a Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP). Additionally, he attended the College for Financial Planning to become a Portfolio Management Advisor (APMA) and is studying for Yale School of Management Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) certificate program.
Career
Mateyko began his career in the late 1990s as a financial advisor trainee at Dean Witter Reynolds. Following his graduation from Augustana College in 1998, he transitioned to New York City's financial hub.[5] Throughout his career, Mateyko has honed his expertise as a financial advisor, holding positions at prominent institutions, including World Savings, US Bank, JP Morgan Chase, Morgan Stanley, Atlas Securities, and Fifth Third.[6]
In 2010, Mateyko established IDEX Financial, a fiduciary financial planning and wealth management firm with offices in Illinois and Georgia. With over two decades of experience in the finance industry, John has established himself as a trusted advisor, helping individuals create sustainable financial plans tailored to their specific needs. Drawing upon his expertise as a Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP), Mateyko focuses on assisting clients with retirement income planning.[7] Through personalized guidance and a comprehensive understanding of retirement income strategies, he helps clients navigate the complexities of retirement planning and prepares them to enjoy their retirement years fully.[8]
Beyond his financial endeavors, Mateyko actively contributes to his community.[9] He founded the Serenbe Athletic Association, where he is a commissioner for the co-ed leagues of Chicago Style Softball and Kickball. Additionally, he established the SMZ Community Theater Group, which enriches the community through engaging performances.[10]
Personal life
Mateyko resides in Serenbe, Georgia, United States, with his wife, Slavyana, and their son. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and exploring new destinations.
Mateyko has volunteered as a youth basketball coach and is passionate about outdoor activities such as diving, with notable experiences in the Philippines, Hawaii, and Mexico. He has also participated in the Midwinters San Francisco Bay Race. Mateyko's commitment to wellness extends to his family dog, Rosco, whom they enter into local dog shows.
