John Lewis Evans Jr (born 19 September 1967) is an American author and motivational speaker best known for hosting one-on-one professional sessions and helping people attain their goals. He is the founder of Evans & Evans Consulting, one of the leading consulting firms based in Florida.[1]

Evans has over two decades of expertise in business and political leadership training and consultation. Among his notable clients are The US Navy Seals, UBS Shanghai, Georgetown University, Johnson & Johnson, and Merrill Lynch, to name a few. He's also the author of two best-selling books about Positive Organization, the most well-known of which is The Takeaway: A Raucous Tale About the Art of the Sale.[2][3] The Orlando Sentinel has named Evans one of Central Florida's most influential citizens.

Evans received his doctorate in organizational behavior from Pepperdine University.

Early life and education

Evans was born on 19 September 1967. He grew up with five sisters. After graduating from the University of Florida, Evans received his MBA from the University of Miami and then received a doctorate in organizational behavior from Pepperdine University.

Career

Evans started his career as an executive assistant to US Senator Connie Mack in Washington, DC. He served for three under him and then became the head of biz development for Florida for American Century.[4]

After seven years, Evans joined Janus Capital where he served as the head of consulting for thirteen years. During this time he was also the Vice President of Sales for American Century Investments in Florida.

Evans then started his entrepreneurial journey by establishing Evans and Evans Consulting. This unique firm offers a variety of services that are creatively crafted to help business professionals attain their goals. He has partnered with the Johnson and Johnson Human Performance Institute and Georgetown, WestPoint, Schroders North America, and the US Navy Seals amongst other prolific clients. John Evans is also a Ron DeSantis Appointee. He also founded a speaker series for disadvantaged black youth in the oldest African American chartered town in the country, Eatonville.

As of 2022, Evans authored four books, two of which became bestsellers. He also writes for a number of publications including Barron’s, Entrepreneur.com, Market Watch, and the Orlando Sentinel.

Personal life

Evans is married to Aly, and they have four children. He currently resides between Winter Park, FL, and Park City, Utah. Evans is also passionate about dancing and loves dancing to funk music.
