Jeff Sawyer Lee is an entrepreneur and consumer health technology executive. He is the co-founder of Hume Health, a health technology company focused on body composition analysis, wearable monitoring, and personalized wellness data.[1][2] Lee was previously the founder and Chief Executive Officer of FitTrack, a health and fitness technology company known for its connected smart scales and health-tracking products.[1]

Lee has worked in direct-to-consumer ecommerce, performance marketing, product positioning, and consumer health technology. His work has centered on building and scaling health-focused consumer brands, including FitTrack and Hume Health.[1]

Early Life and Education

Jeff Sawyer Lee was raised in a family of doctors, where conversations about medicine, the human body, and disease were part of everyday life. From an early age, he was exposed to both the extraordinary power of modern medicine and one of its fundamental limitations: healthcare often becomes most active only after something has gone wrong.

That shaped a different question for Jeff: what if we could understand what was happening inside the body early enough to change its trajectory?

Jeff became fascinated by the idea that biology is not simply something we inherit and accept. It is a dynamic system that can be measured, understood, influenced, and, within its limits, engineered. Rather than thinking about health as the treatment of disease, he began to think of it as the continuous management of thousands of biological signals: identifying changes before they become problems, understanding how everyday decisions affect the body, and using data to help people actively shape their long-term health.

That philosophy — measure earlier, understand deeper, intervene sooner — would eventually become the foundation for Hume Health.

Jeff went on to study Marketing at York University in Toronto, Canada, where he developed the commercial and strategic foundations of his career. At 18, while still a student, he launched his first business, Jeff Sawyer Watches, marking the beginning of his path as an entrepreneur.[3]

Career

Jeff Sawyer Lee began his entrepreneurial career at 18 with Jeffrey Sawyer Watches, a consumer product business through which he developed early expertise in manufacturing, product-market fit, and building profitable consumer brands from the ground up. He discussed his early company during an interview with the e-commerce podcast “eCom@One,” where he described learning about manufacturing, product-market fit, marketing, and the challenges of building a profitable consumer brand.[3]

He later founded FitTrack, a health technology company focused on smart body composition devices and connected health products.[4] Under his leadership, FitTrack grew into a globally recognized health brand, scaling to $120 million in revenue and reaching millions of consumers across multiple markets. In 2020, FitTrack launched Beebo, a smart maternity scale that measures 17 health metrics and integrates with major health platforms, including Apple Health, Fitbit, and Google Fit.[5]

FitTrack’s products included connected scales designed to provide users with body composition and health-related measurements. In 2020, MobiHealthNews reported that the FitTrack Beebo maternity scale measured 17 health metrics and connected with the FitTrack Pro app, Fitbit, Apple Health, and Google Fit.[5]

In 2023, Jeff Sawyer Lee co-founded Hume Health, a consumer health technology company built on the belief that clinical-grade health data should be accessible, understandable, and actionable for everyone. As CMO and Co-Founder, he architects the entire commercial engine behind Hume's global growth, leading brand strategy, customer acquisition, performance marketing, and the systems that have scaled the company to over one million customers worldwide.[6]

At Hume Health, Jeff Sawyer Lee has pioneered a data-driven approach to consumer health marketing, building repeatable growth infrastructure that connects advanced health technology with mainstream audiences at scale. His work sits at the intersection of consumer psychology, AI-driven acquisition, and health technology commercialization, translating complex science into products and narratives that people genuinely want to engage with.

Jeff Sawyer Lee's work at Hume Health reflects a broader belief that the next generation of health companies will scale not through traditional healthcare channels, but through direct, personalized, data-informed consumer relationships.
