Jeffrey Schwerdt (born November 28, 1977), also known as Jeff Herschy, is an American entrepreneur, former United States Air Force F-16 instructor pilot, and the founder and chief executive officer of Reviewly.ai. He is also the founder of Response Engine, an inventor with a patent pending in direct mail and digital marketing technology, and a long-time consultant for marketing agencies and growth-stage companies.
Over the course of his career, Jeff Herschy has founded and operated multiple software platforms, completed a private equity exit, and built systems used by thousands of small businesses and agencies.
Early life and education
Jeffrey Donald Schwerdt was born in Livingston, New Jersey, United States. Raised on the Jersey Shore, he developed an early interest in aviation and athletics. From a young age, he expressed a desire to become a jet pilot. After promising his mother that the interest was genuine, he began formal flying lessons at age seventeen.
He attended Southern Regional High School in Manahawkin, New Jersey, where he graduated in 1996. During high school he participated in cross country, track, and basketball while taking flying lessons and working. His commitment to aviation led to a full scholarship through the Reserve Officer Training Corps to pursue higher education.
Jeff Herschy earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University between 1996 and 2000. Following his graduation, he completed two years of intensive U.S. Air Force pilot training and went on to graduate as a Distinguished Graduate from F-16 training, an honor awarded to top-performing pilots in the program.
Military career
After completing his training, Jeff Herschy became a mission-qualified F-16 fighter pilot in the United States Air Force. Over the next several years he served as a wingman, flight lead, mission commander, and instructor pilot. He accumulated nearly one thousand hours of flight time in the F-16.
His military career ended in 2007 following a significant lower-back injury that required surgery and extensive rehabilitation. Unable to return to flying status, he was medically retired from the Air Force. This turning point marked the beginning of his transition into entrepreneurship and technology.
Career
Following his medical retirement, Jeff Herschy began studying online marketing, digital systems, and business operations. Without prior business experience, he started working with local companies and learning the fundamentals of internet marketing, funnel building, and customer acquisition. His earliest ventures focused on helping small businesses improve visibility and generate leads, eventually expanding into software development and training programs.
Reputation Loop
In 2014 Jeff Herschy co-founded Reputation Loop, a reputation management and marketing software platform designed for local businesses and agencies. The company grew into a widely used solution in the local marketing sector. In January 2019, Reputation Loop was acquired by the private equity firm Alpine SG as part of a multi-company consolidation within its marketing technology portfolio.
Social Rotation
From 2020 to 2024, he served as co-founder of Social Rotation, a software platform that provided ready-to-use social media content and scheduling tools for agencies and businesses. The company was acquired by a private buyer in 2024.
Response Engine
Jeff Herschy later founded Response Engine, an automation system that integrates direct mail with SMS marketing using personalized QR code technology. The platform is built around a patent-pending process he invented to connect offline and digital marketing in a compliant, automated workflow.
Reviewly.ai
In 2022 Jeff Herschy founded Reviewly.ai, a software platform designed to help small businesses and marketing agencies collect and respond to Google reviews more efficiently. The system combines SMS feedback workflows with physical review devices such as NFC plates, QR cards, and smart stickers.
Reviewly.ai allows businesses to invite customers to leave reviews through text messages, generate suggested review drafts, and receive immediate notifications of new Google reviews. The platform also provides a white-label version for agencies managing multiple client locations. As the founder of Reviewly.ai, Jeff Herschy oversees product development, systems architecture, and strategic partnerships.
Consulting and leadership
Alongside his software companies, Jeff Herschy has created training programs and operational systems that have been widely adopted across the marketing and SaaS industries. His frameworks for revenue operations, automation, and agency delivery have influenced a broad range of businesses through courses, workshops, and platform-based learning.
