Alex Nyenga (born May 14, 1990), professionally known as Jackie Russ, is a Liberian artist, producer and music video director. He is the founder and CEO Massive Media Concepts, a production company that is specialized in sound production, film and video.[1]
Early Life and Education
Jackie Russ was born in Monrovia, Liberia. He grew up listening to songs by Bob Marley and Lucky Dube. His father's love for music inspired him while growing up. He grew up working towards his dream of making huge impact in the entertainment industry.[2] Jackie Russ completed his secondary education at the St. Matthew United Methodist School in 2006 and graduated from the International Institute of Computer Studies and Manpower Development (IICS/MPD) were he earned two diplomas in computer science and computer engineering 2009.[3]
Career
Jackie started his entertainment career in 2007 as a music producer. In the early part of his music producing career, his bedroom was used as his studio.[4] He started his cinematographer career in 2013. He has since worked with several top Liberian artists including Cralorboi CIC, Stunna, PCK & L Frankie, Faithvonic, MC Caro, Soul Fresh and Christoph The Change, his younger brother.[5] He has since produced over 600 songs and over 120 music videos for several artists. Like many music producers, he ventured into singing. He has over 40 songs including his debut album, Magic SZN which was released in 2020.[6] His debut album consists of 22 songs.[7]
Personal Life
He is the older brother of Liberian rapper Christoph The Change.[8]
