Huda Garib (born October 1, 1990) is a Pakistani woman who wears many hats, which include working as an entrepreneur,being a motivational speaker, being an educational consultant, as well as, operating as a freelance talent management advisor.[1] She is also the founder, CEO, and lead trainer of e-Magine, an organization that specializes in STEAM education trainings and guidance.[2]

Additionally, Garib is involved with the Rotary Club of Karachi, part of the Karachi Council of Foreign Relations, a member of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and also, holds a position on the advisory board of the UK Pakistan Business Council as the head of the Women Chapter of Karachi.[3][4]

Due to her diverse skill sets and competencies, she has been invited as a keynote speaker at various workshops and programs at not only national; but also, international events. Furthermore, Garib has recently been honored as one of Pakistan's 101 Incredible Women CEOs, has been awarded with the Biz Today Business Awards 2020 for heading an organization that pioneers innovative STEAM education in Pakistan, and has even featured in several leading media publications along with magazines for her achievements and associations such as in the Chicago School of Professional Psychology’s Insight Magazine as distinguished alumni in the September 2020 issue and often in the Billboard Magazine operated by Runway Pakistan.

Early life and education

Garib was born and raised in Karachi, Pakistan. She engaged in her early schooling years until her O-Levels at Bay View Academy in her hometown. and then went on to complete high school at The Lyceum School in the same city. In 2009, she joined the University of London International Programmes hosted by the London School of Economics to pursue a bachelor's in business administration and management. Moreover, she also holds a M.A. in organizational psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, which she completed in 2019 with honours.

In addition to her already impressive credentials, Garib has continued to build on them. She possesses certificates and qualifications in relevant domains from Harvard, Hive Global, SIOP, Fairleigh Dickinson University, the World Bank, and the United Nations, just to name a few. This has enabled her to pioneer numerous management techniques, programs to enhance student engagement and learning, research methodologies, teaching as well as learning pedagogies, and strategy creation tools.

Career

During the years 2012-2016, Garib worked as a computer teacher at Bayview Academy. She taught MS Office and the basics of programming to grades 1 to 6 students - where her career evolved beyond the role of a teacher. With the help of the senior management she delved into the world of working with teachers to develop programs to enhance the overall student experience.[5][6]

It was in January 2017 that she founded e-Magine, a youth development and entrepreneurial training company. She is the current CEO and head trainer there. Through the provision of project-based and pragmatic development opportunities for their clients, it is a firm that provides students with training to improve and expand their skill sets as they bridge the gap between the skills of today and the education of tomorrow.[7]

For, at e-Magine, the team truly believes in striving to create a rather diverse and inclusive ecosystem, where together, we can not only help inspire; but also, empower one another to collectively use our passions, strengths, and creativity to think outside the box as we #DARETOEMAGINE, and play our part towards the betterment of the global community.[8]

In addition to her trainer and entrepreneur roles, Garib joined ODEM & Excelorators, a Swiss-American company, in 2018 as a project consultant for a couple of years. Being an organization that delivers blockchain-based educational and professional development opportunities to interested clients worldwide, Garib found it as another ideal learning window to further expand her horizons. While employed there she was responsible for communicating with clients, evaluating the feasibility and viability of specific projects, revising / customizing proposed programmes, and guaranteeing their successful execution in her region.[9]

Throughout her career, Garib has and till date continues to work as an independent business consultant; advising companies on cultivating work environments that promote employee success and organizational efficiency.[10][11]

Moreover, she has also been a widely acclaimed keynote speaker at various educational conferences, programs, as well as, workshops. In 2016, she represented Pakistan at the UN Youth Assembly. Garib is an active member of various councils and committees, such as the UK Pakistan Business Council International, the English-Speaking Union of Pakistan, the Karachi Council of Foreign Relations,and the Children’s Cancer Foundation volunteer committee. She even served as the CEO and founder of Apna Karachi, Saaf Karachi, teaching waste disposal and the concept of recycling to the people of Karachi - a set up that even though had to close down; has it’s ideologies rooted in e-Magine. She is also been a part of the Youth Services Committee at the Rotary Club of Karachi.[12]

Personal life

Garib is fond of cats and enjoys traveling, writing, listening to music, and taking up new challenges and adventures during her free time.
