Hannah Kim (born 6 July 1998) is an Australian actress. In April 2021, she was cast as the lead character Yu Na Park in the upcoming ABC ME children's comedy-adventure series Parent Up, marking her professional acting debut.[1][2]
Early life
Hannah Kim was born on July 6, 1998, in Canberra, Australia. Her father's family migrated to Sydney in 1989 from Seoul, South Korea while her mother arrived in Canberra (also from Seoul) in 1997 as an international student.[3] At age 2, her family later relocated to Sydney to be closer to their extended family. Kim has a younger brother, Amos Kim, who currently studies Contemporary Music Practice at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
Kim went to primary school at Maroubra Junction Public School and later attended high school at Brigidine College Randwick, graduating in 2016. She has studied at the Australian Theatre for Young People and is also involved as a member of the organisation's 2021 ATYPical Youth Advisory Group.[4] She currently majors in Theatre & Performance Studies and International Relations at the University of Sydney.
Career
In 2019, Kim was cast as the titular character Candice in the episode 2 'Swipe Left' in a drama web-series Social Murderer, produced by an independent Australian production company New Order Art House, directed by Marshall Weishuai Yuan and Sangeetha Gowda. Alongside the lead cast ensemble of Social Murderer, her role won an Honourable Mention for Best Acting Ensemble at the Independent Shorts Awards in 2020.
Kim is set to make her television debut as the lead character Yu Na Park in an upcoming Australian children's comedy-adventure series Parent Up, set to screen on ABC ME. The series was created by Justine Flynn and produced by Naomi Flynn, working alongside Angie Fielder & Polly Staniford at Aquarius Films.
