Hanan Tabaq (Arabic: حنان طبق) is an Egyptian writer, painter and engineer.[1] Hanan has published a number of booklets for children and a number of novels. Perhaps the most prominent of her works is the short novel “The City of the Naughty,” as well as the novel “My Father’s Cake,” as well as the novel “Princess Bana,” which is another short novel of interest to children, as well as the novel “Mandala,” which is a long novel in which she spoke about the mandala symbol.[2] [3]
Career
Hanan Tabaq was published by Nahdet Misr in 40 pages of the book “The City of the Naughty” in which Hanan talks about the eight-year-old child Suhaib after he was transferred to a new school and became nervous and uncontrollable, even his parents were saddened by his behavior, so she tells what happened to him and how he returned a righteous son to his parents.[4] One of the writer's most significant works was the novel "My Father's Cake", which was issued by Dar AlHadaek for printing, publishing, and distribution in only 24 pages. Hanan Tabaq tells how pieces of cake crumbled and cream and fruits were scattered on the ground when Selim and Selimah felt a big shock, but they were determined to deal with the situation and tell how they succeeded In preparing an alternative cake for their father and those who helped them in that.[5]
The writer also has a novel "Princess Bana", which is the novel that was issued by Dar Asala for printing, publishing, and distribution in about 23 pages only, in which the writer dealt with the story of Princess Bana, as it bore the title.[6] This novel was followed by a long book entitled "Mandala" about words for publication and distribution in 152 pages. Hanan Tabaq says that Mandala is not the name of the heroine of this novel, but rather it is an icon that symbolizes the symmetry of its shape to the universe and confirms that its shape was common as a religious devotional symbol, then it became a symbol in modern sciences, philosophy and the arts. And in this novel, in which the heroine was Malika. The “Mandala” was her strong score, who accompanied her on an amazing cosmic journey to answer several questions, including the possibility of living in the time of the great-grandchildren who have not yet come or living in the time of the forefathers of the fathers, and the hero is not yet born.[7]
