Giovanni Brees is a Belgian entrepreneur, growth strategist, marketing expert, and author.[1] After building a career as a growth strategist at Bain & Company, he saw new opportunities in business strategy and venture development. This led him to start his own product launch agency, which expanded into MaxCapital, a group of companies specializing in digital marketing, eCommerce, product launches, and crowdfunding.[2]

Since its inception, the group has supported over 5,000 product launches, helping brands bring their ideas to market and played a key role in generating over $500 million in funding across platforms like Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and WeFunder. Its portfolio includes companies that develop, market, and scale innovative products through digital strategies and direct-to-consumer channels.[3]

Career

Brees started his career in 2005 as a consultant at Bain & Company. Over the years, he has honed a diverse and multidisciplinary skill set, exhibiting expertise in online marketing, startups, sales, and go-to-market strategies. He has collaborated with various companies, from startups to SMEs and large enterprises.[5]

In 2010, Brees co-founded BYMedia, a growth agency. Initially established as a conversion rate optimization (CRO) agency, the company expanded its focus to specialize in product launches and crowdfunding marketing. It developed into a group of companies specializing in digital marketing, eCommerce, product launches, and crowdfunding. Leveraging their expertise, the company successfully launched product campaigns on popular crowdfunding platforms, earning substantial acclaim and attracting requests for crowdfunding assistance on platforms like Kickstarter and Indiegogo.[6]

Over the years, Brees has garnered a reputation for his proficiency in go-to-market strategies, crowdfunding, growth marketing, paid ads and product launches. His clientele includes projects and partnerships with notable companies, including P&G, Sennheiser and Luxottica. His contributions to the startup community culminated in the launch of The Startup Challenge in 2016, demonstrating his dedication to supporting and empowering entrepreneurs.[7]

In 2023, Brees introduced copyapp.io, a startup in the AI market sector dedicated to assisting users in crafting exceptional ad copy, engaging social media posts, and much more.

In January 2023, Brees released his debut book, "The Crowdfunding Quick-Guide." The book is a comprehensive resource, providing valuable insights and strategies for crowdfunding to raise funds, launch products, and enhance sales. The book covers various aspects of crowdfunding campaigns, addressing crucial questions and offering post-campaign approaches for sustained success.
