History
Farmioc was established in 2018 by Suri Nuthalapati, headquartered in Hyderabad, Telangana. In 2020, the company was incorporated as Farmioc Technologies Private Limited.[4]
The founders grew up witnessing the challenges in the agriculture industry and wanted to devise a data-driven solution that would serve as a commodity marketplace and yield actionable insights through data-driven decision-making.[5]
Farmioc owns and manages a large database of Indian agriculture data and transforms it into insights, forecasts, and visualizations using advanced big data analytics techniques like machine learning, artificial intelligence, remote sensing, image processing, and computer vision. The company builds predictive models, allowing various agriculture stakeholders, such as agribusinesses, agronomists, FMCG companies, biotech firms, financial institutions, and the agriculture equipment industry, to make informed business decisions.
Farmioc also provides a commodity marketplace for trading agricultural products, allowing farmers to get the best price for their produce without intermediaries.
Over the years, Farmioc has emerged as India’s most innovative agritech platform facilitating both price discovery and online marketplace. The platform has launched applications for Android and iOS users, making it more accessible.
Products and services
Farmioc has developed various products to assist agricultural stakeholders with decision-making, trading, and consulting services. Key products include:
DataStore: Today’s agriculture is dominated by climate change and an increasing population, leading to unsustainable production and consumption patterns. To address these challenges, Farmioc has built DataStore, which collects, organizes, and processes vast amounts of agriculture data and transforms it into actionable insights, forecasts, and visualizations using machine learning and predictive analysis. The data analytics platform helps various stakeholders with decision-making and enhanced productivity.
PriceHub: PriceHub is an agriculture market intelligence platform that provides insights into crop prices and market trends for various crops across the Indian agriculture industry. With features like commodity prices, trends, and forecasts, PriceHub facilitates informed decision-making, price negotiation, and trade efficiency.
MarketHub: MarketHub is an online agricultural commodity marketplace where farmers can reach nationwide buyers and find the best prices for their produce. For buyers, MarketHub provides simple access to the best commodities at their preferred locations and reduces the fees associated with brokers and intermediaries.
Agvisor: Using the data insights generated by DataStore, Agvisor helps governments, farmers, investors, and FMCG companies with pricing, crop selection, marketing, and sales decisions.
In addition to the above, Farmioc also maintains a dedicated blog section, where it shares the latest industry news, updates, and insights on the agriculture sector to help various stakeholders stay up-to-date with recent information.
