Daria Andreevna Zueva (born March 7, 1990 in Smolensk) is a Russian–Dutch actress, performer, singer, tutor, voice coach, producer and entrepreneur.

Life and beginning of career

Daria Zueva was born and raised in the Russian town of Smolensk. Her mother is an economist and het father was a builder. When she was four years old her parents divorced and she stayed with her mother[1]. Her grandmother helped to raise and educate her[2]. In her early years she studied foreign languages and studied choir singing and piano at music school named after Michail Glinka. She competed in Ballroom dance and Latin dances. Also she practiced vocal and performance skills in children's studios and participated in song festivals in Russia and Belarus. Later she attended the Smolensk Chamber Theatre. At the age of 17 she moved to Moscow.[3] She studied drama acting for theater and film from 2007 to 2011 from renowned director Evgeny Veniaminovich Radomyslensky at the Institute of Modern Arts in Moscow.[4]

Theatre and musicals

From 2011-2019 she has been mostly working in theatre and musicals both in Moscow and in St. Petersburg. In 2010 she passed an audition for the role of Vasilisa Premudraya[5]in musical “Lukomorye” based or Russian folklore and poems of Alexander Pushkin [6]and was invited in state of acting group of Moscow Drama Theater named after Ruben Simonov where she performed in repertoire of theater in different drama, comedy, children and musical performances till 2014.[7] Beside that during 2012 – 2013 she signed a contract with Stage Entertainment Russia and performed the role of Lisa in musical Mamma Mia! [8] From 2014 – 2016 she used to play the role of mother of a lead character in huge musical show "Ballad about a small heart"[9].Than she had been working in musical “Onegin's Demon” as a character Olga Larina based on poem "Evgeny Onegin" of Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin[10] and in musical “Flying ship” directed by Egor Druzhinin. In 2019 she passed casting in musical “Stilyagi" in Theatre of Nations [11][12] and started to fly on performances from the Netherlands where she moved in 2018.[13][14][15][16]

Music

From 2014 till 2018 she has been developing as singer and producer of acoustic band “Daria’n Trio” in Moscow. Band consisted from Daria, pianist Evgeny Bagenov, percussion player Vasily Koloda, contrabassist Max Makagonov and invited musicians. They were playing jazz and bossanova with vocals in different languages.[17] Beautiful concerts were performed on various stages in Moscow, such as Kozlov’s Jazz Club, Skryabin’s museum in Moscow and others. In 2014 performed and travelled with concerts as singer in folk jazz duo “Matreha” [18]produced by musician Sergey Voytenko. In 2014 and 2018 visited Warsaw as singer to perform on the International Festival of the song of Anna German[19]. In 2019 took part in Dutch tv-show "All Together Now" and have started to performe with different Dutch Jazz bands and musicians as a singer[20][21]. Later on in 2020 started collaboration with Dutch recording studio “Flexrecords” from the cover on the well-known song "Girls just wanna have fun" and registration of the artist name “Daria Zu”. The same year begins her songwriting together with Michel Wijninga. Working on her first album.[22]

Coaching, tutoring

Coaching & tutoring have started in 2014 when she helped applicants to prepare materials requested to enter theater universities. Later from 2015 till 2016 she had been working as vocal teacher for children and adults in creative studio “MLD” in Moscow.[23] In 2016 worked as vocal teacher in theater studio "Buff" in Moscow. Each year quantity of students increased in Moscow and St. Petersburg and since 2018 she starts to give online lessons as well. From 2018 owner of company “Let the sunshine in” registered in the Netherlands. She gives workshops and arranges “Music lounges” in different cities[24]. Worked as substitute teacher in music studio "Lucky beat" in Amsterdam.
