Felix Cyril Babu Stephen (born February 14, 1962) is an Indian-born single father, writer, director, and Ayurvedic practitioner. Felix Stephen, the therapist, now goes by Cyril Babu..[1]

Cyril Babu is the founder and CEO of The In Foundation, a non-profit organization that builds schools to educate girls and women in dire need.[2]

In addition to his philanthropic work, he practices as a psychedelic therapist, offering yoga, meditation, and exercises, at his facilities in Los Angeles, New York, and North Carolina.

Cyril Babu is also associated with Observation Productions, a film production company, where he serves as a writer and director. Notable among his works is the film "Breaking Tradition."

Cyril Babu is the author of "IN," a book of verse that bathes one in the personal nature of love. (watercolors and verse).

Early life and education

Cyril Babu grew up in Bangalore India. He attended St. Germains High School. Babu played every sport in school, captained the Blue House, led a Boy Scout Platoon, volunteered at Mother Teresa’s orphanages, while scouring the temples of South India.

In 1979, Babu enrolled at UC Davis for higher education but later discontinued his studies.

In 1985, Babu began donating to Archbishop De’Melo for the education and care of six children. In 1999, he established the Bethel School with his aunt Mary in Bangalore, India.

Career

As a single full time father of two girls Babu realized the prejudices faced by girls and women, which led him to establish The In Foundation. The In Foundation is a 501C3 non-profit organization focused on empowering girls and women through establishing schools and targeted programs. Under Babu's leadership, the foundation introduced the STEP IN™ program, emphasizing the positive impact of educating girls. The organization offers a K–12 program, creating a favorable environment for the development of young women by prioritizing education, environmental consciousness, and civic engagement.

Babu has been an vedic practitioner and instructor in the United States for the past two decades. His professional background includes facilitating meditation sessions, providing deep-tissue massages, and instructing yoga and breathing techniques, and psychedelic sessions at his facility in Los Angeles, California.

He is highly regarded for mitigating physical, emotional, and spiritual suffering and has earned acclaim from clients from all over the world, including the Bahamas, France, UK, Malaysia, Japan, and the United Kingdom. Publicly known clients include actor Robert Downey Jr., British rock musician Sting, Jerry Stahl, Trudie Styler, Ron Sweeney, and Ben Stiller.

Additionally, Babu was a lecturer at Loyola Marymount University, where he discussed subjects including spirituality, prosperity, willpower, emotions, relationships, Eastern thought, the contemporary world, and prevalent spiritual dilemmas.

In 2009, Cyril founded Observation Productions, a Los Angeles-based production company, assuming roles as the writer, director, and executive producer. His directorial debut, "Breaking Tradition," is a love story involving an all-American lad and a Muslim girl, releasing on February 2, 2024.

Additionally, Babu is the author of "IN," a literary work that explores the intricate interplay between tantric concepts of passion and Western ideals of love.

Before his career as an Ayurvedic spiritualist, Babu held positions at KCET and Sony Pictures Entertainment.

Personal life

Currently, Babu resides in upstate New York. He previously lived outside of Los Angeles, where he raised his two daughters, Ashley and Celine.
