A person who practises any kind of therapy is known as a therapist. Therapists are trained professionals who operate in the area of providing any form of service, similar to psychologists, social workers, counsellors, life coaches, and other similar roles. They are useful in providing clients with counselling for a variety of mental and physical difficulties.

A "therapist" is a trained professional who is involved in the practise of delivering services related to any kind of therapy or rehabilitation.

It is necessary for a licenced therapist or counsellor to pass the state's licencing test, and it is very desirable for them to have a master's degree in addition to having finished their internship with a working professional.

There are counsellors out there with a bachelor's degree who also work under the supervision of certified therapists or psychologists. Art therapy and addiction prevention training are not very popular among counsellors.
