Clarissa Naa Dedei Botchwey is a Corporate Communication professional, social entrepreneur, an Education Spike Campaign Ambassador and a former winner of the 2020 Ghana's Most Beautiful Beauty Pageant..[1][2]
Early life and education
Naa Dedei was born in Accra to the late MacDonald Amatey Botchwey (father) and Rosemary Akweley Mootsoo Allotey (mother). She's from a family of two and the first child. She grew up in Santa Maria and Nungua in the Greater Accra Region. Naa had her basic education at Daras Preparatory School. She proceeded to the Accra Girls Senior High School where she offered General Arts. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the Central University (Ghana). She obtained a Master of Arts in Journalism from the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ).[3][4]
Career
Naa Dedei worked in a corporate communication firm for over five years. In addition, the former beauty queen has numerous years of volunteer work and internships in the fields of education, journalism, and law. Nestle, Orca Deco, Boss Baker, Olam, International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), UNFPA, Unilever, Afroqliq UK, UNICEF, DAkpabli, DataBank Foundation, and Renaissance Group are just a few of the brands she has worked with. Naa also has experience in administration, project management and non-profit work.
She runs an NGO called the Naa Dedei Botchwey Foundation. The mission of the foundation is to offer opportunities and assistance to special needs student. The foundation was able to secure scholarships for twenty girls to study at the Regional Maritime University[5] and also secured scholarships for two girls to study at the Laweh Open University[6]
She is the official Ambassador for the Education Spike Initiative.[7]
Award and recognition
- She was crowned winner of the 2020 Ghana's Most Beautiful pageant.
- She won the Beauty Queen of Year award at the 2021 Tasty Tom Ghana Outstanding Women Awards (GOWA) at the Marriott Hotel, Airport City, Accra.[8]
Personal Life
She loves reading and traveling. Her role model is Barack Obama.[3]
