She grew up in Suwanee, Georgia, until 1993, when she relocated to Flowery Branch, Georgia and later to Gainesville, Georgia.[9] In 2010, Tasker moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. She moved to the Miami’s Wynwood Arts District in 2015, currently she resides in the Brickell area of Miami, Florida.[10][11] Tasker was raised in a creative and entrepreneurial environment with a father who owns a construction company and a mother who is an artist and entrepreneur. Notably, her grandfather Hammond B. Davis served in American Embassy’s around the world as an Army Attaché with direct access to John Fitzgerald Kennedy Jr. during Fidel Castro's rise in Cuba.

She completed her high school education at North Gwinnett High School (Gwinnett Co. Schools) and graduated from West Hall High School (Hall County Schools) Gerogia in 1994.

Tasker's passion for design and entrepreneurship emerged at a young age when she started creating costume jewelry from old blue jeans. She actively participated in craft shows and drew inspiration from her mother's artistic endeavors, and gained knowledge from other artisans, which inspired her to start her jewelry collections and designs. Schoolmates remember Tasker as an early entrepreneur selling candy and homemade goods in elementary school.

Career

Tasker's professional career began at an early age of 14 when she worked as a sales associate promoted to Manager at D.J’s men’ clothing store, a brand owned by the Merry Go Round Association. Later County Seat Jean Store in Gainesville, GA recruited Tasker for management positions. Afterward, she followed in her grandmother’s footsteps as she transitioned to a commercial associate position at First National Bank of Gainesville. Further learning from other entrepreneurs, Christi’s entrepreneurial spirit ignited and she embarked on new creative ventures.[12]

In 1999, Tasker co-founded Ambiance Interiors & Gifts, Inc., an interior design firm and gift boutique, alongside her mother. Their transformative vision involved converting a historic residential property into a vibrant pink house hosting the retail store. The company quickly rose to prominence, becoming renowned as a top-tier residential, commercial, and hospitality interior design firm. Tasker's exceptional design prowess earned her recognition, with her work prominently featured in prestigious publications such as ELLE DECOR, Miami Home & Design, Florida Design, Romantic Homes, Southern Living, and Architectural Digest. Throughout her journey, she received invaluable guidance and mentorship from esteemed interior designer Ann Platz.[13]

In 2003, Tasker ventured into the world of affiliate marketing by crafting a highly successful social media campaign on MySpace for her design business and to monitor her pre-teen daughter’s online communications. This experience sparked her realization of the immense potential of digital marketing, leading her to educate others about its advantages. Her national campaign for Ambiance Interiors & Gifts, titled "Can you spot the Dot?" featuring the attention-grabbing polka-dotted H2 Hummer named "Dottie," garnered significant recognition. Recognizing the power of instantaneous and cost-effective messaging and marketing, Tasker maintained her position at the forefront of social media trends.[14]

In 2010, venture capitalist encouraged Tasker to establish PuTTin’ OuT, a content marketing and digital marketing agency specializing in reputation management for celebrities, small business owners, and professionals. In 2015, Tasker and her husband Boyd established Wynwood Lab, initially as an experiential marketing and event venue situated in Miami's vibrant Wynwood Arts District. The Wynwood Lab brand became an international success overnight. Shortly after the opening success, the Taskers filed for a Federal trademark for the brand. Then, they were sued in a Federal lawsuit for the brand because of a single tweet of another business claiming likelihood of confusion.[19]

The Taskers reached a settlement for a perpetual license of two brands and they agreed to transform Wynwood Lab into an online gallery marketplace, providing artists with a platform to showcase and sell their creations online vs. in person. Then they rebranded the experiential marketing venue in Wynwood to CASA Wynwood. Shortly after, due to gentrification in Wynwood, they lost the venue lease. During that time, the Taskers became sought after consultants to the Italian manufacturers saving their businesses and livelihood as many Italian companies unknowingly sold both products and production to China.

In response to the pandemic in 2020, Christi Tasker was in Asia when the Covid-19 pandemic broke out. She begin sending news channels typical commentary and facts about the global pandemic, but they refused to cover Tasker’s findings. She started her own news blog and podcast called Patriots Perspective.

During the 2020 Pandemic, some of Tasker’s clients mandated medical procedures in order to sell or license her designs to them. Christi changed her product design approach to avoid such mandates. She created an online e-commerce store called ChristiTasker.com. This shift allowed her to utilize her designs as her own brand versus selling or licensing them to other brands. ChristiTasker.com offers a wide range of products utilizing Christi’s design and art. The products include custom wallcoverings, home decor, custom furniture, original art, and a fashion accessories boutique to include scarves and fashion jewelry directly to customers. She plans to launch a complete fashion collection to the site.
