Baqibillah Mishkat Chowdhury (born April 1989) is a Bangladeshi Sufi Islamic scholar, Politician, Television presenter, Islamic religious leaders and also international Islamic speaker and social reformer. He is the Director of Historic Sadra Darbar Sharif, Joint International Affairs Secretary of Bangladesh Tarikat Federation, President of Sunni Peer Mashaikh Unity Council.[1][2][3] He is also a leading figure in several organizations including National Mukarrireen Council Bangladesh, an organization of Islamic speakers in Bangladesh. He is particularly popular with the hard-line speaks Anti-Terrorism.[4][5]

Name and lineage

One of the centers of spirituality with almost a hundred years of tradition of Chandpur district, founder of the historic Sadra Darbar Sharif, Proponent on the basis of the first lunar vision, to celebrate all religious ceremonies, including fasting and Eid on the same date all over the world, Allama Muhammad Ishaq.[6][7][8] His 4th son the present Pir Sahib Qibla of the historical Sadra Darbar Sharif, Allama Zakaria Chowdhury Al Madani. and his eldest son Dr. Baqibillah Mishkat Chowdhury.[9][10][11]

Career

On 28 December 2016, he was selected Director of Historical Sadra Darbar Sharif, Haziganj Upazila, Chandpur District.[12]

Dr. Baqibillah Mishkat Chowdhury was invited to the UN General Assembly held on 24 September 2013.[13] And also was invited in 2014 as a guest at UAI Association Round Table held in Seoul Seoul of Korea.

In 2009, 25 Islamic scholars led by Dr. Syed Rezaul Haque Chandpuri filed a writ petition in the High Court seeking an order to cancel the registration of Jamaat-e-Islami, a political party misinterpreting Islam. One of them is Dr. Baqibillah Mishkat Chowdhury In the light of the writ petition, the Hon'ble High Court on August 1, 2013, declared the registration of Jamaat-e-Islami null and void.[14][15][16]

Dr. Baqibillah Mishkat Chowdhury was one of the plaintiffs of the case that were arrested war criminal and misinterpreting religion Delwar Hossain Sayedee, Matiur Rahman Nizami, and Ali Ahsan Mujahid on June 29, 2010, for insulting religious sentiments.[17]

When the fanatical group in the name of Islam Hifazat, taking hundreds of crores of taka from the anti-independence Jamaat, under the banner of Hifazat-e-Islam, in the name of peaceful movement, trying to destabilize the country by setting fire and insulting the Holy Quran. Just then, on April 10, 2013, at the National Press Club, the Sunni Pir-Mashaikh Unity Council held a press conference and as a president Dr. Baqibillah Mishkat called on the government to take strict action against Hefazat-e-Islam. In this context, on May 5, 2013, the government resisted custody.[18]

After the arrival of Corona in the country, worshiping the religious sentiments of the common people, some ignorant people, while giving misinterpretations of Islam in the guise of scholars, made misleading statements like "Corona is a soldier of God", "Corona will not infect Muslims". At the same time, to warn the nation, Dr. Khwaja Baqibillah Mishkat Chowdhury instructed the nation to avoid public gatherings and perform prayers at home by issuing correct fatwas on behalf of the Bangladesh Tarikat Federation in the light of Quran-Sunnah.[19][20]
