Avatar Soundz (born 24 December 1992), formerly known as Avtar Josen, is an American-born Sikh singer, rapper, songwriter, and record producer. He is best known for creating upbeat Punjabi songs and has come to become an influential up-and-coming Punjabi hip-hop artist in the U.S.
Avatar Soundz gained attention from his debut song Shonk, and since then has released multiple songs with ambient sounds, and drill-style beats such as Pablo, 1666, Legacy, Naap. Avatar Soundz has notably contributed to creating a versatile music production environment gaining recognition for his eclectic style. By the end of 2021 (30 December) - his debut album Without A Label will hit the markets.
Biography
Avatar Soundz grew up in Oakland in a traditional Punjabi family. He developed an early interest in music by the age of 8, which later turned out to become his passion and eventually a career choice.
Avatar Soundz further developed his craft through vocal training sessions and instrument playing such as the Sarangi. Upon his parents passing away during his Junior year at college, Avatar dropped out to continue running the family business. After a few years of re-establishing his dad’s company, Avatar went back to college to finish his bachelor's in Economics at the University of California San Diego. Soon after graduating, he continued to push his passion for music professionally, while carrying on the family business.
In 2020, Avatar Soundz released his first EP - Legacy, a commemoration to his Sikh faith, that attracted listeners from around the globe. Avatar Soundz has released multiple other hit singles and his debut album - Without A Label is all set to hit the market on 30th December 2021.
