Ann Smarty is a Ukrainian content marketing strategist, entrepreneur, blogger, digital marketer, SEO expert, and speaker based in New York. She is the co-founder of Smarty.Marketing, an SEO marketing agency, and the founder of Viral Content Bee, a social media promotion platform.[1][2]

Additionally, Smarty maintains a personal blog, SEO Smarty, focusing on topics within the SEO and online marketing niches. She is the SEO analyst and community and branding manager at Internet Marketing Ninjas.[3]

With over two decades of experience in online marketing, Smarty has become an authority in SEO, content marketing, and community building. Notable positions include editor-in-chief of Search Engine Journal and community manager at SEOchat and Threadwatch. Smarty is an active speaker at international conferences and webinars, such as Pubcon, and contributes regularly to prominent online marketing publications such as Entrepreneur, Moz, and Buzzsumo.[4]

Early life and education

Smarty was born and raised in Ukraine. She pursued her higher education at V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, earning a master's in English and German in 2006.

Career

Smarty started her career by writing English blogs while still in high school, eventually establishing herself as an authority in SEO writing. In 2006, she launched her blog, SEOSmarty.com, covering SEO and online marketing. Through SEOSmarty, Smarty shares her insights and consulting services related to SEO and digital marketing, catering to individuals and businesses seeking to enhance their online visibility and SEO strategies.[5]

In 2008, Smarty assumed the role of Editor-in-Chief at Search Engine Journal, a leading resource for SEO and online marketing insights. She later served as a media director at BlueGlass Interactive, Inc.[6]

In 2009, Smarty founded MyBlogGuest, a platform facilitating guest blogging solutions and promoting quality content through guest posting. This platform fosters interaction among guest bloggers, enabling them to share their expertise with a broader audience.[7]

In 2012, Smarty joined Internet Marketing Ninjas, where she currently serves as the Community and Branding Manager, contributing regularly to the company's blog and serving as an internal SEO resource. She aims to establish the blog as a premier free Internet marketing resource, uniting SEO experts worldwide. She is also involved in operating various company-owned communities, including DevShed forums, Cre8site forums, and WebmasterWorld forums.[8]

In October 2023, Ann co-founded Smarty.Marketing, a boutique SEO marketing agency in New York. The company offers various action-driven services such as SEO audits, infographic marketing, and digital asset creation for long-term organic growth and brand visibility.[9]

Smarty is also the founder of Viral Content Bee, formerly known as Viral Content Buzz, a free social media promotion platform. It aims to boost content promotion across multiple social media channels by fostering authentic sharing, high-quality content, and community engagement with influencers. The platform supports all major social media sites, including Twitter, Tumblr, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and Mix.[10][11]

Throughout her career, Smarty has contributed as a guest author to prominent internet marketing and business blogs such as Business.com, Entrepreneur.com, Small Biz Trends, SEOmoz, Mashable, and Social Media Examiner. Personal life

Smarty resides in Saratoga County, New York, with her husband and daughter.
