Omosuyi Emmanuel Adeleke (born September 4, 1987), also known as Amota Dking, is a Nigerian Afrobeat singer, songwriter, and record producer.[1] He has released numerous songs, with notable tracks including "Big Waist", "Bam-Bam",[2] "Irawo".

Amota Dking has received several accolades, including the title of Best North Central Artist at the Central Nigeria Awards in 2019 and recognition for his album ‘Shadow EP’ as the top album in East Africa in 2017.[3]

Early life and education

Amota Dking was born in Ibadan, Nigeria. His father, Paul Omosuyi, was a bishop, and his mother, Iyaniwura Mary Aiyenugba, was an accountant. His parents separated when he was five years old, leading to his relocation to Lagos. He began his education at Korede Nurse and Primary School, followed by Community Secondary School, where he served as Senior Prefect. He pursued higher education at Kogi State Polytechnic, where he studied science and laboratory technology with a focus on environmental biology.

After graduating in 2012, Dking undertook his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in 2013, serving in Adamawa State in northeastern Nigeria. Following his service, he worked for ARM Insurance in early 2014 and Skye Bank until 2016.[4]

Career

Amota Dking started his musical career in 2009. In 2017, Amota Dking released his debut album, Shadow EP, which was recognized as the top album in East Africa. Since then, he has released several notable tracks, such as "Irawo (My Star)," "Only You," and "Stay With Me." In 2019, he was awarded Best North Central Artist at the Central Nigeria Awards.[5]

Amota Dking has made significant strides in the music industry with his latest single, "Bam-Bam," released in 2024. The track is produced by Zambian hitmaker Kamilo and mixed/mastered by Nigerian professional 3Brainz. It was released under Rruffnekktalent/DIMA Empire Africa and distributed by The Orchard/Sony Music Channel.

Additionally, Amota Dking is the co-founder and Vice President of Dima Empire Africa, a music management company specializing in the digital promotion and management of musicians.
