Adley Kinsman (born 25 November 1988) better known by her stage name Adley, is an American entertainer, online personality, comedic viral influencer, entrepreneur, country singer, social media influencer, and host. Adley is a Grammy-awarded entertainer and best known for her viral comedy and lifestyle videos on social media that average over 2 billion monthly views. She also had a successful run as a member of Team Blake on "The Voice".[1]

Adley rose to instant fame when she was first seen in Season Two of NBC’s “The Voice” in 2014. Shortly thereafter, Adley’s comedy and prank began reaching millions of viewers which gave her early recognition. She has built a huge following on her social handles, which totals well over 20 million followers.[2]

She is the founder of VIRALISH media. VIRALISH creates and distributes original content, helping brands and events seamlessly integrate into viral communities.[3] Adley has built her success from her unique ability to create content that appeals to a mass audience across nearly every genre. While much of her brand consists of pranks and light-hearted entertainment, she has also excelled in scripted dramas, challenges, social experiments and even parody.

Perhaps the most notable example of parody was her satirical commentary “What We Should All Be Doing Right Now” on the conflicting information the world was receiving at the beginning of the COVID-19 global pandemic.

In a time when the world needed it most, Adley was able to provide relatable entertainment for those not only frustrated with the media, but also confused by the oxymoron of information they received. Her skit was picked up by national news including Good Morning America, Daily Mail, NBC Local Channels, and went viral across several platforms.

Early life and education

Adley was born as Adley Geneva Stump in Tulsa, Oklahoma to mother, Terri Stump and father, Greg Stump. She has one brother, Jake Stump. After graduating from Bishop Kelley High School in 2007, she went on to study at Oklahoma State University where she graduated in 2011 with a degree in Strategic Communication.

Career

Adley never planned to pursue a career in music, but it quickly became a significant chapter in her life after she jokingly auditioned for The Voice on a dare from her sorority sisters. Adley auditioned and was accepted onto the show as a member of Team Blake (led by Country Music superstar, Blake Shelton). Adley was eliminated during the battle rounds against Raelynn. This battle is noted as one of the most controversial battles in The Voice history."[4]

Between 2012 and 2019, Adley released several singles as a part of her music career. She made a notable move in 2014 when she put out a tweet stating that, as a prank, she would “steal a country music star’s car” if her tweet about her single was re-tweeted over 200 times. This resulted in her stealing Joe Diffie’s truck, which inspired a three day social media frenzy with fans trying to figure out where she was taking the vehicle. This earned the attention of Nissan, who stepped in and gave Joe his truck back and helped Adley donate brand new Nissan Titan to a family who had recently lost their newborn baby, home, and all transportation.

Adley's 2016 single "Don't Wanna Love Him" was awarded the Grammy Amplifier Award by judges Sam Hunt, Lzzy Hale, and Big Sean. During this time, Adley was acknowledged by The Recording Academy as “One To Watch.” The Academy funded the "Don’t Wanna Love Him" music video, which was recorded in Malibu and featured co- star and longtime best friend of Adley, Olivia Jordan (Miss USA 2015).[5] Adley's reign as Grammy Amplifier came to an end with a SXSW Showcase in 2017. From 2016-2017 (four years after appearing on The Voice) Adley toured and performed a number of stadium shows opening for her former The Voice coach Blake Shelton and others including Kenny Chesney, Miranda Lambert, Train, Chris Lane, Philip Phillips, Thomas Rhett, Big & Rich, Jake Owen and more.

In 2019, she shifted from the country genre to release parody songs such as "Bacon. Eggs.," and "Brady Leave" about NFL player Tom Brady's unwillingness to retire, as well as "Bumble," a parody on the faux pas of online dating apps. These comedy genre singles were well received by her fans and contributed to her transition into video entertainment.

Her single "Brady Leave" is set to the tune of the Bebe Rexha & Florida Georgia Line hit "Meant To Be." The music video for "Brady Leave" has over 6.4 million views on Facebook alone. Frustrated with “suits behind desks,” determining her career trajectory, Adley turned to social media to entertain her audience directly. Two weeks into posting videos on her Facebook page, her video “Chickens In A Bathtub” went viral on Sept 21, 2016, accumulating over 19 million views in 24 hours. Since then, she has accumulated over 18 million followers across her social pages, both under her name and aliases, averaging over 300 million weekly viewers. Adley's growth on social media has allowed her to become a valued publisher in social-first entertainment. She has worked with brands such as Land Rover, Kroger, TikTok, Nissan, Jack Daniels, Marriott, Southwest Airlines, Children’s Miracle Network, FabFitFun, and more.

In 2021, Adley and Blake Kinsman founded Story House and subsidiary media outlet VIRALISH. VIRALISH helps brands, events, and people of interest integrate their messages into viral communities at scale.

Since her initial success on Facebook in 2016, Adley and her internal team at VIRALISH have established audiences on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Snapchat where they publish six weekly snapchat shows of varying subcategories. These shows include Photobombs, WWYD? With Adley, Crazy Magic, Glam Cam, Viral Products and LOLZ.
