Zane Novak is a Canadian businessman and politician currently running for mayor in the 2021 Calgary municipal election.[1] He was the former president of Calgary's Kerby Centre and current CEO of ZKO Oilfield Industries.[1]

On January 1, 2021, Novak announced he was running for mayor in the 2021 municipal election, which is scheduled for October 18, 2021.[2]

2021 Mayoral Campaign

Novak claims his campaign priorities are creating a city hall that listens to Calgarians and reduces government spending. He believes a collaborative effort needs to be reinforced between city hall and it's stakeholders.[3]

He is also an opponent of the current Calgary City Council proposal of The Green Line. He claims to be concerned that it doesn't reach "important commuter catch basins," and believes the project "warrants further review."[4]

Novak has criticized fellow candidates' calls for mask mandates and vaccine passports in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Novak claims in regards to the pandemic and Calgary's future that "Calgarians need to be 'realistic.'"[5]

Volunteer Work

He was the president of the Kerby Centre within Calgary. The Kerby Centre offers programs, activities, and services for those over the age of 55.[6][7]
