Yunib Siddiqui (Born 26 February 1969) is an English entrepreneur and businessman. In 2008 he acquired the UAE franchise rights for Jones the Grocer[1] from the Australian brand owner, becoming the group CEO and owner of the popular specialty grocery store and café. Siddiqui's franchising experience began in 2003 when he joined the board of Team-A ventures as their Brand Development Director. Team-A is a country franchisee operating retail stores in Pakistan, representing brands including NeXT|Next, Mothercare, ELC, Crocs, Debenhams, Monsoon - Accessorize, The Timberland Company.
Siddiqui's first solo business venture was a home interiors distribution business in London, England, almost immediately after graduating from the London School of Economics. This business quickly became the first port of call for interior retailers and department stores in Europe and the United States, including retailers such as Liberty, Selfridges, Bloomingdale's, Harrods, and Galleries Lafayette. Siddiqui exited this business in 2008.
In September 2009, shortly after becoming the franchisee for the United Arab Emirates, Siddiqui opened Jones the Grocer's flagship store at Al Mamoura in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Six further openings followed in quick succession including a flagship store in Dubai. He subsequently went on to purchase the global intellectual property rights for Jones the Grocer in 2020 and relocated the brand's corporate head office to Dubai. There are currently 25 new stores in Jones the Grocer's future development pipeline with 23 operating locations throughout the Middle East, including Qatar, Egypt, and the United Arab Emirates.
