Yared Ayala (born January 18, 1989) is a Mexican writer, poet, composer, professional broadcaster, singer, actress, oral storyteller, workshop facilitator, and vocal coach.[1] Her contributions to the arts, especially as a salsa singer, have earned her the nickname "La Voz de la Salsa" (The Voice of Salsa). Yared is also an established figure in literature and broadcasting.[2][3]
Early life and education
Yared was born in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico, on January 18, 1989. From an early age, she demonstrated a passion for the arts, composing her first song at the age of eight and writing her first story when she was seven. Yared pursued higher education in Communication Sciences, specializing in broadcasting and professional dubbing. She studied acting and dubbing at the Institute of Cinematographic Arts in Mexico City.
Career
Yared has been actively involved in the arts since 2000, showcasing a diverse range of talents such as writing, music composition, and performance. She has been recognized in the radio industry as "La Chica de la Voz Sensual" (The Girl with the Sensual Voice) and is currently a prominent figure in the salsa music genre.[4]
Yared serves as the artistic director for the Festival Internacional Palabra en el Mundo, Poesía en todas partes (International Word Festival, Poetry Everywhere), Mexico Chapter, Tamaulipas Hub, and the Festival Internacional honrando la muerte y celebrando la vida (International Festival Honoring Death and Celebrating Life). She is also the creative director of Ayame Editorial.[5]
Over the years, Yared has performed at various musical and cultural festivals in Mexico, Cuba, and Colombia. Each invitation to these events represents a significant achievement and commitment for her to represent her country.[6]
In 2020, Yared participated in La Voz México, which she described as a pivotal experience in her career.[7][8]
Her debut album was released as an EP with four original songs at the end of 2020. She describes her music as "Urban Salsa," a genre she has pioneered as the first Mexican salsa singer to produce original content in the last five years.[9]
In addition to music, Yared is working on a compilation of her poems, which she plans to publish as a collection. She describes her work as interweaving music and poetry. Her work explores human emotions, such as love, life, disappointment, and overcoming adversity.[10]
