Xi Zhang (born 1979) is a Chinese architect and entrepreneur. She co-founded EXH Design Shanghai in 2006, and EXH Design Zurich in 2016. Zhang Xi founded Superlab Suisse in 2019; a laboratory real estate company.
Career
Zhang graduated with a Masters degree from ETH Zurich, Zürich in 2006, and founded EXH Design Shanghai the same year. Among EXH Design's projects, are the Hoffmann-La Roche campus, Shanghai, China.[1] the Haiyang Village[2] in Wuhan, China, and The Visa section of Swiss Embassy, Beijing[3].
In 2016 the book, 'EXH Design. Swiss Quality, Chinese Speed', was published, providing an overview of Zhang's company's work.[4]
In 2018 she presented a talk at TEDx Zurich[5], entitled “Why the world does not need more star architects, but better architects”[6]. Zhang stated: “Truly great architecture is selfless.” and, “It’s not self-serving, but about making designs in harmony with human nature and respect the integrity, context and tradition of each context”.
In 2019 EXH Design was awarded as one of the top 100 creative design companies in China by AD magazine.[7]
In 2019 she founded Superlab Suisse[8], a lab real estate company based in Switzerland.
In 2020 she featured in Apple commercial 'Behind the Mac'[9]
In 2021 she was selected as one of the initiators in the field of Generation Future[10], by Europa Forum Lucerne.
